How can I play this better? Was the value bet too large? Was calling on the turn OK?

Raise the flop to how much? 6? And what's the purpose of this?
Disguise my hand / fold equity / pump up the pot?
What if he reraises / pushes?

if he re-raises/pushes you got backdoor straight, two overs and the nut flush draw. Hes equal stack to you so I dont know if id call a shove... although you might have to

I'd reraise flop to 6, call a shove and put him allin if he reraises me again. If he just calls I'll check behind turn and valuebet river if I hit. If I miss turn and he bets I'd call something like 3/4 of the pot but probably no more unless I know that he's stupid enough to pay of a flush.
