pretty good match between djokovic and federer here.
on a side note: is mcenroe's advice the same everytime? 'he needs to step into that ball' every fucking time. |

| Of course it was a good shove, I won | |

stepping into the ball in tennis is prob like betting the turn in poker, its something everyone knows they need to do but no1 ever does |

I thought Djokovic played much better than fed this match although Fed was ahead the entire match... I thoguht Fed was really lucky he had a huge chance 40-15 match point to end it despite playing worse than Djoker... but when djoker deuced it I knew fed was done.
No fed/nadal open final this year, massive tilt! |

they postponed the final
tomorrow 1600 local time
anyone willing to bet, pinnacle sports has djokovic at +245 which is INCREDIBLY good, now that he will be rested
he's 7-3 against Nadal on HC
no matter what the results are his chances are at least close to 50/50
(0-4 on GS, but 3 times at RG and once at Wimbledon)
thank me later |

True, but remember that Nadal is still 14-7 lifetime vs Djokovic, and that Nadal is playing at a higher level recently on surfaces other than clay than he was capable of earlier in his career when most of those losses took place.
I think the line should be +190 or so. |

nadal is 14-7 because they played 10 or 9 times on clay, and nadal won them all, since he is virtually unbeatable on that surface
last 3 matches = 3-0 djokovic, but they all happened when nadal was semi-injured late last year
seriously imo djokovic is the favorite to win here |

yes, I did. I'm not impressed with Nadal because he faced no top hardcourters on his way to the final.
Youzhny played too passively, probably because he was tired from playing 3 4-set matches in a row and then a 5-set match against wawrinka right before their match. Also Youzhny uses a 1-handed backhand and everyone who does this will have trouble with nadal because he will play his FH to their BH, and most of the time their BH is their weaker shot.
also Djokovic is a great, great returner and will return much better than any of Nadal's opponents did, which means he wont get as much free points nor feel so comfortable on his own serve. Nadal also has problems with players who hit flat with their BH, such as davydenko and nalbandian. He has to bend his knees to reach those balls and that makes him lose a bit of power on his FH. Just to elaborate a bit more on this, Federer's bh is loopy. He can't generate too much power when he hits his crosscourt backhand, he tries to open up the court and mixes it up with slices and deep backhands in an attempt to make his opponent hit a so-so shot so he can punish it with his FH. Problem is this doesn't work against Nadal because it plays right into his FH and then it's federer who hits the so-so shot with his BH allowing nadal to dictate the point. That's one of the reasons Djokovic offers more of a threat to Nadal than Federer does. In addition, Djokovic, nowadays, is a better mover than Federer, so he will get a lot more balls back than the swiss.
well its up to you think nadal is the favorite because he has been crushing sucky players, or players who have a long story of bending over to him (lopez, verdasco). I really believe Djokovic is the favorite and I stand for it, as I believe Djokovic is a better hardcourt player than Nadal, and he matches up well with him on these courts.
that being said, it will all come down to day form.
