one thing though i'm curious about.
why would dwan still be laying some of these guys 3:1 when he cannot be near that much of a favorite.
Guess he figures over 50k hands he really is that much of a favorite over anyone? i mean two years ago maybe but don't know about now. Jungle got this game solved |

Probably more than ego. He is building an image and reputation, and all this is great PR as well. Sure he probably could have gotten a deal with FTP anyway, but this surely helped him.
I think there are several factors that should be included as well. Tom Dwan being extremely competitive and pretty much challenging the entire poker community (and himself too, to stay on top). It's more than just an ego-boost. |

I really hope they have 100% of their own action. What's the point of a challenge if nobody gets hurt or if you don't play 100%. Make the challenge 50-100 then lol. |
from 2p2 hs thread, it's confirmed Jungle does not have 100% of himself, and rumored that Durrrr doesn't either. |

huh? what do u mean by that lex? seems like a weird thing to dislike. I don't think durrrr was planning to always have <100% as standard when he made the bet, and obviously nobodys taking durrrr's action on the sidebet so hes got all of himself for that at least |

really? that makes no sense to me either - why not just play 10% size of the stakes, and have 100%? weaker player pool.. less worry.. etc. etc. weird |

It's easy to be a boss when the majority of your income isn't from poker .

Not to mention the Andy Beal Corporation matches, where Ivey split his BR with several other pros to play that HU match....
and obviously I know it's not easy and agree he's a boss, just saying even Ivey has sold pieces and been 'backed' before. |

On February 5, 2006, Beal was down $3.3 million (USD). He then returned to the Wynn a week later, and won approximately $13.6 million from the Corporation during daily poker sessions from February 12–15. The games resumed February 21–23, with Phil Ivey representing the Corporation against Beal at limits of $30,000/60,000 and $50,000/100,000. During these three days, Beal lost $16.6 million to Ivey. |

Yeah... and then Ivey split that 16.6 million with the 3-4 (or however many other people who were on the team).. meaning he did not have 100% of himself in the highest stakes heads up match of all time.. |
