I'm guessing he plays to be the best, the money is just a side prize if he can beat the best.
Can't think of another reason why he would be able to play so high, lose so much, and keep on going.

The only hands a nit balances in his range are the nuts, the second nuts, and the third nuts.

like vlseph said, its as if money is very secondary to his need to be the best. That's the only thing that could explain his way of playing, he doesnt give a crap about being the underdog. If he loses, he learns, and comes back again.
He believes he has the talent to be the best, and puts in more hands at the highest stakes than the rest, vs the best.

and he seems alot better than back in november~(except his tilting) at PLO, so his degen play style seems to be working

I cant imagine what isildurs' lifestyle is like, especially if he is actually going broke every time. I really wonder what his net worth is... Wouldnt it be much less stressful/less life hating to just grind 25/50??? Dude is an immense hero but he might have some serious gambling problems.

If anyone wants to break into the high stakes now, the way to do it is isi's way. He said he doesn't follow poker, and didn't analyze his hands. He's got a lot of talent, huge balls, is competitive as hell, and developed his own style ( dunno if this applies to PLO).

Me might be living with his parents even... all he does is play, so not much costs to cover for the internet and electricity... I think he will be coming back again and again, and if they won't open up 1/2K PLO he will eventually establish his roll on FT. He makes those guys look like nits...

he took 500k from CTS and 400k or something against ZeeJustin which means he lost 1,5M totally or something during this day (which means he is not FTP- broke?)

If you look at the graph you can see how he first went up around $500K against Cole South, then losing a million to durrrr before getting back to even by beating up on ZeeJustin. After that, he broke even for a long time against Phill Galfond in the $200/$400 NLHE and $300/$600 PLO game before tanking $1.6M in the $500/$1000 PLO game.

Browsing through your hand histories makes me wonder that you might not be aware these games are possibly play money. Have you ever tried to cash out? - Kapol

Despite this loss Isildur1 is still up about $1,6 million for this year, and can hopefully recover from this huge loss.

yup, but i think winning/losing 3mil a day is more important than worrying about the electricity bill.
