i do it live sometimes and i dont think its douchey at all. Mainly because most people switch seats a ton for superstitious reasons and stuff like that. So when i switch to get position on a fish i feel like im not spiting in their faces, because they probably dont realize my motivation. Its +EV, no ones feeling are getting hurt, and other people switch all the time. |

youre a douchebag if you do this live, some young guy did it to me when I sat at 5/10 for the first (and last) time in my life @ bellagio and once the table broke and it just seemed to be regs and myself he switched to my left and as he walked past to grab the seat he meekishly muttered something like 'Iiiiiimmm gonna take this seeat heeree.' I left after like 45 seconds, and I expect anyone here who's had it done to them to be really pissed when some young internet guy does it to you |

I play 2/2 live and I'm pretty sure 99% of the fish wouldn't even know why you are changing seats if you sit down on their left so I don't have a problem with it. |

Do you spit into someone's face by playing tight on a loose table? By folding with a worse hand? By Isolating a bad player? By bluffing a weak player?
I don't see how seat selection is not just another part of the game, like betting patterns. |

I tried doing this for a very short time on party, but there's quite a lot of competition for the midstakes tables and I kept losing my seat and feeling a bit (a lot) of an idiot. |

The thing is that a fish is a recreational poker player, not a mentally challenged retard that wont get whats going on when you suddenly take a seat to their left. You are not fooling anyone when you do it and you just make it uncomfortable for the fish and very likely to hurt the game, especially online when its easier for them to just quit. |

there are seats with more room at my casino so ppl change seats all the time. i honestly dont think the regulars, much less the fish, realize whats going on when i do it |

there's a pretty large pool of live players, what does it matter if one person knows that i know about position advantage? i doubt he'll care to tell anyone about it |

Because some people cant hold their tongue.
Its not a problem if he knows, its a problem if he says "Hey youre only moving because you want position on Player X!" and PlayerX decides to leave because he doesnt like the feeling of being targetted/the fish etc. |

I always choose the most +EV seat on the table and will regularly change where i play.
I don't really care what they think, i know enough table banter to keep the fish placated and happy with me so i have a good social image for the table, and part of the stigma is i am a kid anyway so there are some things they will always do vs me and wont do vs anyone else that i cant change anyway. |
