that "stupid huge thing" is a machete accord to newspapers... I think the security did a very good job, he just had no other choice than to protect himself. Picking up the gun and do what? I dont know german laws but wouldnt surprise me if he would be punished by law if he picked the gun up and actually had to shoot someone.

I remember there was a case in the USA where a robber hurt himself breaking into a house and sewed and won. So yeah I wouldn't be too surprised if you were prosecuted for protecting yourself with the gun of an armed robber.

Also, I'm not sure if you've ever shot a gun before but shooting a moving limb like an arm or a leg is extremely difficult to do unless you're a well trained marksman. It's actually best to just shoot for the chest and claim self defense.

But youre basically forcing the guy with the machette to make a decision in the heat of the moment - hes likely to react violently if you pick up the gun and put it to his partners head.

They only need to catch one robber and they can probably catch the rest of them through him.

Also; theres on guarantee that the gun is funtional or loaded, but its probably not a good idea to get into a dick waving contest with a guy whos making an armed robbery with a machette.

also he has to let go of his choke hold to get the gun.
