I'm starting to like Lesnar, if for nothing else than he pisses off these mma-elitist fucktards.

We have now sunk to a depth at which restatement of the obvious is the first duty of intelligent men.

thoughts on card.

lesnar did great, he impressed me with his strength. he has some brutal gnp he looked like old school hughes in this one. I was pretty divided on who would win, and towards the end i thought mir was gonna win. Lesnar showed me the error or my ways. He's gonna be really tough to beat. I'd like to see him against another contender though before i'm ready to crown him as the best there is. I dont' know who's next for him, all the other good HWs seem to be tied up.

gsp vs alves went how i expected. I actually called gsp to win by stoppage in the 3rd/4th round. Alves had some serious cardio to look dangerous even until the final bell. That guy is gonna be #2 in the division for a while gl ANYONE getting a shot with him in the way. 170 is like the most impossible division right now. Fitch/Thiago/GSP rofl good fucking luck.

hendo vs bisping, big suprise (not)

bonnar vs coleman. I expected coleman to be able to take him down but i didn't expect him to take him down in the 3rd round... Bonnar sucks and Coleman showed heart. Good show coleman! Old man powers!

Im impressed with lesnar too he looked much better than before his GnP is unparalelled he can hit so hard in such short distances.

However i think this fight exposed some serious serious holes in Lesnar stand up exchange, on round 1 when Mir briefly engages with him Lesnar tries to get out in a sloppy "wrestler" way by turning (instead of stepping back or something) totally bent with his head exposed, really awful panic move.

On the 2nd round is also very evident that Lesnar panics as soon as he feels a punch so i think he will probably be raped when he is forced to strike with another big heavy weight.

Granted he seemed to fight a different Fedor, but he did better then either Sylvia or Arlovski. Coleman is really one of the greatests heavyweights, its just too bad he was stuck in Hammerhouse for so long.

I also forgot Bisping vs Hendo, which i think Bisping takes. I predicted Franklin to beat Hendo, which i thought he did, but it was pretty close either way. I think just as in Franklins case, Bisping is the more complete fighter, while Hendo doesnt really seem to be improving and is still the same Hendo from Pride days. The problem is the Pride Hendo is an unsubmittable unknockoutable block of concrete and its very hard to beat a concrete block. I think just about anyone has the same chances against Hendo- if they can keep it on their feet and push the pace they can edge out a discision.

looks like you said bisping takes it.

its just annoying every thread i see you in you come in like you knew how everything would play out and blah blah blah but you never actually say it before the fight. if youre gonna brag about what you thought was gonna happen after it happened then post your predictions here so the rest of us can make loads of money on your infallible mma knowledge.

i agree with stim. SfydjkLm seems to get this retarded complex about his mma knowledge. SfydjkLm aren't you a huge bj penn hater?

lesnar looked really good. i think he would be a decent to big favorite against cain, nog, randy, mir, gonzaga, dos santos, etc, and an underdog to carwin right now. carwin is as big/strong, possibly a better wrestler, and a better boxer, so if carwin could keep it standing he could outbox lesnar and maybe he could even take brock down and put brock in a spot hes never been. carwin also showed some really good instincts on his back vs gonzaga briefly, plus he trains with greg jackson so i would pick carwin over lesnar, but god lesnar looked insane.

his takedowns are unreal. his armpin, hammer away with huge gnp shots is amazing and would really suffocate almost any bjj'er. fedor is still a favorite over lesnar, but god i would not be surprised if lesnar did beat fedor if they fought. id say hes probably the 2nd or 3rd biggest challenge for fedor out of anyone right now along with arlovski (assuming hes not done), machida and overeem.

gsp will never lose at 170. just move up and fight people at 185 and then come back to defend in february, then go back up to 185 for a silva. not worth it for him to be fighting blowouts constantly, he is just out of everyones league.

hendo vs bisping was obv. 1 min into first round i was like why the fuck is bisping circling towards hendos right hand. what happens? he avoids a left, circles towards bispings right hand and gets KTFO. nice job bisping.

gonna dl/watch a bunch of fights now. i hear danzig vs miller was AWESOME

i honestly think cain can beat brock. i mean brock is huge but i think his wrestling is overrated. he struggled with randy. and brocks standup is still really bad as baal pointed out. his foot movement is terrible and hes pretty stiff. and you can tell he is still very inexperienced. he panics. and i think cain would gas him. brock was pretty tired vs randy. i mean with all that muscle youre gonna gas and cains cardio is pretty beastly.

i think cain would beat him. bout it in the ufc though.

outside i think fedor maybe arlovski

his wrestling is not overrated. randy couture is an olympic grecco beast master who has more MMA experience then like everyone.

it was brocks 4th fight.... I mean is he the best wrestling in mma no? so yes in that respect he's overrated. but i think he's rated just about right that he's probably the best wrestler in the HW division.

yeah i think tons of guys could beat him but he still could beat them.

did you see randy in that fight? he had old man body. not to mention brock had 55-60 pounds on him. no doubt randys a great wrestler but if brock struggles with a wrestler in randys condition i think big also well accomplished wrestlers like cain and carwin will be able to do pretty well vs him in the wrestling department. if they can keep it on the feet they should be able to outstrike brock. i think cain has a better chance than carwin because carwin is the slowest man alive. looks like hes punching underwater.

his gnp was absolutely frightening in both rounds but mir may not be the best matchup to beat brock. carwin vs brock seems like it would be an amazing fight while cain vs brock could also be pretty good. no where near time to start putting brock on the same level as fedor though.

alves really impressed me vs gsp. yes gsp won and dominated etc. etc. but alves showed great poise on the ground and had no cardio problems despite the pace and control gsp showed. a good year or two of concentrating solely on his sprawl/wrestling and gsp might be in some real trouble.

fitch fought weird vs thiago but he probably considered a wrestling/grappling match to be safer than a standup fight, especially after thiago put koscheck away.

bispings strat vs hendo was pretty lol-worthy, circling towards hendo's right hand should be grounds for an immediate loss imo

belcher dwarfed akiyama but i still think akiyama won. he was landing more and had more control on the ground, belcher had his moments but akiyama was definitely more crisp...i do think he's going to need to put on a bit more weight if he wants to be really competitive at 185, not too much but definitely a little bit more

proud of dhk and jon jones, both got solid/dominating victories over good opposition.

not sure if anyone has read this article or not but its pretty interesting.

http://sports.yahoo.com/mma/news?slug...nar071209&prov=yhoo&type=lgns

The greatest beneficiary of each Lesnar snarl, however, lives in Stary Oskol, Russia, a man named Fedor Emelianenko who is considered the No. 1 heavyweight (if not pound-for-pound fighter) in the world. If anyone has the knockout power to stop the 6-3, 265-pound Lesnar, it’s Emelianenko.

Fedor doesn’t fight in the UFC though. He’s with its rival promotion, Affliction. He’ll fight Aug. 1 in Anaheim, Calif., in what is the last match of his contract. Affliction is hoping to re-sign him until 2012, but the UFC will come hard after him. More now then ever. And that means money, big money.

“Eventually Fedor is going to be here,” White said. “I want Fedor. We’ll end up getting that deal done and then we’ll do Brock vs. Fedor and we’ll do a huge fight.”

and yea about bisping circle to his left. WHAT THE FUCK? probably the dumbest thing ive ever seen. its like pulling guard against fedor.
