Alves vs GSP is pretty tough to predict, both guys are too green to make a correct assessment of their actual skillset(not to mention they keep on constantly improving). People are overstating Alvess size advantage cos GSP himself is huuuge. And judging from relative Hughes bouts they are about the same size. But it does play a factor because Alves probably hits harder and GSPs chin is yet unproven.
Shogun vs Lyoto. Pretty important bout that will test both fighters legitimacy and tell us whether Shogun is really finally back and how does Lyoto look when he is put out of his element. Betting on Shogun is ridiculous +EV at those odds, obviously if hes back in Pride-grade shape he is the favorite to win. And with all the time he had to get up to speed, i think the chances are good that hes already there.
Coleman vs Bonnar, i really dont see why people dismiss Coleman. Bonnar is a nobody and Coleman is the dude who put up a good fight against Fedor twice. If Coleman tries to get in shape he will absolutely dominate.
Brock vs Mir. WTFBBQ. |
When coleman fought fedor he was on steroids and much younger, and he didnt really put a good fight imo.
|
Granted he seemed to fight a different Fedor, but he did better then either Sylvia or Arlovski. Coleman is really one of the greatests heavyweights, its just too bad he was stuck in Hammerhouse for so long.
|
one of the greatest heavyweights? what are you talking about he has a 16-9 record FFS !, the only good fighter he beat in his entire career was Vovchanchyn, the rest were all mediocre. |

Brock Lesnar > Frank Mir (both suck)
Georges St. Pierre > Thiago Alves
Dan Henderson > Michael Bisping
Jon Fitch >. Paulo Thiago
Yoshihiro Akiyama < Alan Belcher
other interesting fights:
Stephan Bonnar > Mark Coleman
Jim Miller < Mac Danzig

considering that the odds are probably be atleast 250+ for machida, it might not be a bad bet. |

I'm on this train, I don't care how "good" he was 7 years ago, he looks nothing more then just average. I lost a TON of respect for him in that coleman fight |

So last night my friends and i went to this brazilian steakhouse called Texas De Brazil in south vegas. We show up and are in the waiting area to get a table and i see vinny magalhaes from TUF. one of the guys im with is 6'6 235, a college bball player, really sick athlete and in good shape. hes kind of a loudmouth and says anything to anyone. the plan was to walk up to him and say "hey hook, you see this guy over here, he owes me 10k and wont pay wtf hes such a prick it pisses me off". hook likes to just punch people so he actually had a decent chance against vinny!
but before i could start a brawl in the waiting area vitor belfort walks by me. i changed my mind and said "ok i was joking dont start anything theyre professional fighters". if hook started a fight and vitor finished it hook would no longer be among the living.
if you want to go see brazilian fighters and eat the shit out of awesome portugese food go to this place. it was pretty awesome i ate so goddamn much. i kind of expect thiago alves to go there after the weighin. id venture a guess and say i ate about 3 pounds of meat/salad bar/fried bananas there. |
