Sorry to burst your bubble but when the most important figure in Pop and an a person who is known in almost the darkest corner on earth dies is a big news.
Its not like we are talking about Britneys new boyfriend or something, its the death of a world wide figure.

between ZOMG terrorists killed 30 ppl and MJ died, which would be most newsworthy?

I think the death of Michael Jackson has more impact on the world than the death of 30 randoms.

Michael Jackson was probably in the top 10 of most famous people in the entire world. You're asking if his death is more significant than stuff that happens everyday?

true
It was interesting to see how extreme-fame from an early age can have such drastic consequences on a persons mental state.
They turned his life into a freak show. I hope people can forget all the shit that hit the fan in MJs life in these recent years and can remember him as the bad-ass king of pop he was.

Not more than one hour gone and got these gems.
"Conformation just came through that Michael Jackson died of food poisoning apparently he ate some 12yr old nuts"
"Michael Jackson died picking his nose. Doctors said they didnt blame it on the sunshine or the moonlight. They blamed it on the boogie"
Michael Jackson left it in his will that he wants to be melted down and turned into a play station so all the little kids will still play with him
Michael Jackson has died in hospital and nurses don't know what to do with the body because plastic recycle day is not until next Tuesday.
Some more....
Michael Jackson has died, his time of death was when the little hand touched the big hand.
Since Michael Jackson was plastic should they have a funeral or a tupperware party.
The reports are incorrect Michael Jackson did not die of a heart attach he visited a childrens hospital and had a massive stroke.

RIP Mike!
for the record I don't think he was a pedo, just seriously mentally fucked up from being on stage and forced to work nonstop from pretty much as soon as he could sing/dance. I think he never had a childhood and therefore never really grew up, and was always trying to get something he'd missed out on, which was to be a kid. And to be a kid you gotta hang out with kids.
also, they were showing a million different documentaries and interviews with him all over TV last night and when they showed him responding to questions about being a pedophile he looked to me like he was telling the truth. I'm not amazing at spotting liars but I'm decent and there was some solid body language that fit with him telling the truth (or at least believing what he said) and I didn't see any of the standard signs of lying.
So for those reasons I really don't think he was a pedo. I still think he was fucking weird though. He fucked himself up with plastic surgery and skin bleaching. He had a lot of issues. At the same time he put together amazing performances, videos and music, and did a lot of humanitarian work. Sad to hear he's gone.

MJ was tired of life and decided to just "beat it"
I'm glad some people like baal are giving mj the respect he deserves. IMHO i think he's underrated, if it's possible. He was the greatest writer, singer, dancer, and stage preformer, also beatboxer the world will ever see. he wasn't human he was a fucking musical machine/genius but genius doesn't even do him due. Yeah he liked hanging with little boys because he never got that crucial part of growing up, issues for sure. Even if he did like doing little boys he was still a musical god. I just wish he could have kept it legit and seen what kind of stuff he could have pumped out over the years. RIP.

Musical genius or not the man was a disease. No amount of fucked up life or upbringing excuses abuse of children. Sure he worked hard and was denied a childhood, but life with $50 mil at your beck and call is not as hard a life as pimping your sister to put bread on the table. We make chioces in life and suffer from those choices we make. I would rather celebrate a mother who raises her children through adversity on a shoestring budget rather than a flawed musical genius.

imo michael spent the last 10-30 years on some hard drugs an had a premature heart attack due to it
probably was addicted to mad coke n who knows what else
but i could be wrong
his music was for the generation b4 mine, but still a lil sad to see a "legend" die, although chip reeses death means more to me than this.

also not to mention a lot of his billion dollar tours were half to charity, and he bought all the rights to all of the beatles songs which really was one of the greatest business moves anyone could have made. McCartney made an offer to buy them back and he said f that and sold HALF the rights to Sony for 300 MILLION dollars.
edit: thriller and smooth criminal, nuff said. man in the mirror is da shit as well. any song he ever did was art and better then any mortal could imagine as a solo. sorry for ranting but i have done music my whole life but know that no one that was as real as him when it came to putting out quality then mj. never really was a fan but have always had the upmost respect for him even through him being crazy and his controversy with children. as he is now dead i just feel it necessary to put my word out there. also what a lot of people don't know is that the beat in a lot of his songs is him beat boxing and then looping for him to sing to.

Michael was awesome. Kind of shocked over the death still.
However, it seems that it was the best option for him - he was stuck and owed everyone. Forced into 50 concerts when he couldn't even perform one, heh.
He seemed to be a good-hearted but a very naive person and the naivety is what made it impossible for him to survive his own stardom.

Looks like it was oxycotins and some other medications that were mixed up
His doctors tryin to cover his ass, but obv he was giving michael anything he asked for, probably got the stronger drugs for michael off the record to save his ass if something like this ever happened
hard to relate this to anything but drugs tbh

I have a confession to make
when I heard MJ died I was definitely sad and paid my respects in my own way
but then that turned into aggravation as almost everyone I knew kept gossiping, bringing up his death over and over as it was on the media for 3 days and so they constantly asked me what I thought and my reply was always towards something of the war in Iraq/Afghan and the troops there etc and where is the news or passion for that? You don't really hear anything about it anymore since Obama do you
anyhow, this final rehearsal video has been released, I just saw it and now I feel bad because I had forgotten how much he did love this country and people
RIP Michael Jackson

Because they were never exposed to it until they started to youtube his music after he died?

Its because they will be worth alot of money in the future.
or maybe they do it because they thought: oh i liked his music but i dont have any cds (that is true in many cases) and went to the store and bought one..
