I figure a thread for general short discussion for things happening in vegas during the summer when a lot of us will be around may be useful. For non-short posts about yourself or general wsop/vegas related things you want to write about this summer, please use the WSOP Blogs section (pm meat or someone if you want to post in this section but dont have access). Use this thread for example for things like:

- share how long you're planning to visit, where you're staying, what you're going to play
- propbets
- share your "twitter" if you're gonna "tweet" your results
- good places to eat and drink and go out
- recommendations for stuff to do or games to play
- buying/selling/swapping %s in events
- get some lp shiz organised

perfect, I needed a thread like this!

I'm heading out to vegas sometime in the first few days of July. I live in CO and am gonna be driving, which is like a 1 day drive. Not sure where I'm staying at this point but bringing a sleeping bag. Have 1 friends house lined up as a potential but hopefully I can crash on some LP floors / sofas at some point too.

The main reason I'm going out is to meet all you bastards. I don't plan to play in any of the tournaments (unless someone gets drunk and decides to stake me). I'll play some NL200 cash games at the casinos and then grind online. To me this is like the poker version of WCG and I used to go to those and have a blast with everyone, so I hope this will be similar.

If you have a couch I can crash on let me know!

EDIT: oh yeah, as I haven't been to any poker events yet to meet people IRL I'll throw down some references so you know I'm not a scumbag who's trying to rob or scam you or something.

People I know IRL via WCG are: Nick (tasteless), Nero, Froz, Smaq, mnm, slog... they're the ones who I got to know best. Then other peeps who I've known online forever but never had the honor to meet IRL are: Fira, Midian, sniderstyle, nony, everyone in sMi., and of course my coach sakisaki.

I'm super excited to get out to vegas and meet everyone in the flesh!

im also going to vegas, leaving for manila june 24th, then off to vegas on the 25th. ill be staying with lostaccount and chris' place. ill be playing the ME too and probably getting a laptop there to grind some online, coz my current laptop is shit and obv my main machine stays here in my house. ive been planning on going to this trip since early this year and im really excited to meet all you guys, tokeweed can't go with me so its really too bad i dont have a fellow countryman with me who's got my back, so be nice to me people lolz

problems i have will be money, i can only bring about close to 3k coz the stake payment of 10k is on me, so i gotta bring a shitload of cash for the trip and little for myself, i got some online money and a credit card so i hope thatll help me with purchases there. honestly this will prob be my last hurrah at pokers, im slowly "trying" to shift to stock trading and tokeweed will hook me up with it when i get back here. maybe playing for living expenses but really giving up on the "dream" i used to have years back.


i also hope some of you guys teach me some better poker, since most of you are prob better players than i am, well if someone's got spare time for someone who's never really got anywhere lol - that being said, ill also resume coaching with dzoo when i get back here too.

i met some online poker heroes at the rio 10-25 today inc futilewar and the infamous(?) Dokosoko. doko is an ultimate hero plays hilariously monkey laggy, super entertaning to have at the table. tho unfortunately he did bad beat me. i wont go into lamo nobodycares bad beat stories but it is worth mentioning i managed to get top pair allin on the flop for $3800 eff stacks at 10/25 in a single raised pot with on and be ahead against doko's , standard doko lolz. was hilarious he was even saying out loud during the hand and other hands stuff like "well that isnt good" and "ohhhh shit...." like in the middle of the hand when people call him preflop and on flops lmao.

Interestingly enough theres only been 4 players who have completed the triple-crown of stud at WSOP. One being Eskimo Clark - holy shit how do you go from triple-crown stud 2k/4k to begging for satellite entries and denying medical care when u have a heart attack at the table.

Also; I had no idea Jeff Lisandro was actually good at poker. I only remember him as being some Tony Soprano type gangster who threatened to punch Prahlad Friedman when they got in that arguement over the missing ante.

I've got a food question - how much does it cost per day to eat in Vegas? And if you're grinding the NL200 tables do you get any sort of comp action or would that be like expecting supernova while playing NL2?

I'm trying to figure out how much to budget for food per day to see how long I can stay, hehe. I always hear about big buffets at the casinos but if you're not staying at the hotel does it cost a lot to eat there?

not too sure about the food k2o4 but my guess would be that if u wanna eat cheap $30 per day would be enough, about the live games they re soft as fuck, played 2/5 yesterday and there was not a single decent player so Id expect the 1/2 games to be even softer, seeya soon dude

yeah bellagio games and esp at the mgm ones are soft, table selection is easy: "look for tables with the most number of old people"

Just back from Being Vegas for a month, it was really fun. A lot of cool people there, and everything is rly big lol. But it's true what you hear, about people's moral being really low, never seen so many scammers and greedy kind of people in my life. Kinda made me a bit sad, not used to that here in Norway. So really good to get back home xD

But if you look away from all the scammers, low lives and people trying to exploit other ppl, it was mental xD

I mean, like, if you ain't naive or fall for all the scams and let it consume you, ur good.

And that part about Rhino is so true, was dozens of stories from in the "norwegian" camp about people getting hustled for thousands of dollars over there lol.
