I dont know about afghanistan though, I dont think you can win the war in afghanistan if you dont win over the civilians, and that is hard to do when you bomb and shoot all around them. If you dont win over the civilians you can kill as many talibans as you like and new ones will just join the force.
I dont know if the war over there is wrong though, some times you have to take some casualties now to avoid further casualties in the future just like WW2, if Hitler just had his way we would have lived in hell right now and I think we are better off fighting radical muslims in these countries rather than wait until they stand at our borders with guns and sharia law in hand.

I like americans a lot, most sociable and reasonably civilized people on the planet
your government sucks ass though, and some prevalent thoughts in the american population are very harmful to the world, especially because you are the biggest export of culture in the world.
especially this whole, "people deserve what they get" and "with me or against me" mentality has way stronger foothold in usa than europe. the fact that nearly 1% of your population is in jail, and that people actually think this is good because "they're getting what they deserve for being criminals" is seriously fucking sickening to me. as is the support "jailrape" as an institution has. this becomes even more laughable when you also claim the title "land of the free", when you are closer to being "land of the imprisoned".
there are also areas where usa is superior though. even though theres lots of racism, especially relating to the justice system, europe struggles so much more with it, even intelligent europeans can be racists and thats pretty sad.
while large portions of european populations were negative towards usa like, ever since the vietnam war and all your involvements in latin america cuz you have had this notion for the past hundred years that you should maintain control over the western hemisphere, general america-hatred only got foothold after george bush and the invasion against iraq. previous to that we made fun of your ignorance and obesity, but that was just in the same way you make fun of the british for having ugly teeth. so you can seriously put like 90% of the blame on the government about to resign, and rest assured that if obama actually does bring some change, the european opinion on usa also will. in fact it already largely has, and european media actually covered the previous american election to the same degree we cover our own.
