ok, since you're all so curious as to why I got a range rover, I'll sum it up briefly. what I wrote in the article wasn't a lie--I wanted a car that did well on hills and was comfortable and luxurious. the range rover fit that description perfectly. why get such a large car though, you may ask? why buy a ridiculously huge gas guzzler that averages less than 20 miles to the gallon, you environmentally unfriendly rich asshole? well, I live with 4 people right now and we only have 2 vehicles, which is ok, but we are soon going to be joined by 3 more of my friends from England. Coupled with the fact that a lot of my friends visit and its just easier to pile everyone into one car when going somewhere, the Range Rover seemed like a really good idea.
I mean, I'm not saying I don't care about looking baller, because otherwise I'd just get a crappy used minivan. Getting the Range Rover had a lot of practical purpose in it though (whereas the 911 turbo certainly will NOT).
I didn't get rid of my RX-8, its in the garage for the remaining duration of San Francisco . |
fuck em, they can walk, get the 911
or just lend them the Rx-8 |

Who cares what kind of car he got, if it makes him happy that's all that matters. I hate car snobs who act all high and mighty, get off your high horse already. |

also, you might want to look up the definition of 'snob' baal, what you described is closer to being shallow, or vain, not snobby imo. |

well its like when we ripped on the guy wanting to buy an X price watch, and this is just silly especially for a car enthusiast.
See it this way, you are a painter, and this guy buys a very expensive painting only for the solely purpose of showing off, i assure you the painter would be disgusted by the purchase. |

right hand drive system is much better for car jousting since your sword arm is on the side of the opposite lane of oncoming traffic. fish

Hm i dont like that BMW 318d as a car for a young baller
Imo its more like a car for old men or rich girls
Like middle class people who worked all their life , saved some money and now being 55years old spent the 20-25K on that new 318d BMW
Also a friend of mine ( girl on 1st picture i blogged recently) drives a 118i BMW 129hp (2007)and i think its probably not too extremly different from the new 318d (2006+) in general.
correct me if i am wrong.
Well i am not saying it isnt a good car. But for the 118i
The interior is quite simple ( not too fancy) but very classy and beautiful. The car itself feels very very very comfortable to drive. Very smooth and steady accerlation , very silent ride , nice grip on the road ,easy to handle ,all comfortable and smooth. Even the car itself from the outside looks kinda unspectacular simple but good quality.
So now if the car is all that so why dont i like it that much ?
Well it just lacks agressivness in every aspect imo.
Dont know if u tuned your car ? ( the m sign on the steering wheel confused me. Why is one on the steering wheel but not on the back of your car ?)
But afaik the 318d has around the same hp the 118i has ? like 120-130hp.
that combined with what i know from the 118i and the look of the pictures from the 318d + also knowing they are about same price lets me expect it to be a very comfortable but boring ride

fair points but i never considered a bmw 1 series for a second, i dont like any small cars and this is no exception. if i was gonna get a small car id only get it to cut costs if i decided i didnt want a car i can actually enjoy driving and just wanted transport to get A->B in which case i would buy some rubbish used corsa. i want a nice first car so i can get my feet wet in driving nice cars cause it seems like a really cool hobby that i want to get into, and i like the luxury features and being comfortable for long journeys. but at the same time car insurance is super expensive in uk for first time drivers in big cars so this is pretty much the best i could get before costs started getting retarded (currently paying £1800 for first year of insurance). you are absolutely right though it is not a very 'aggressive' car but like i said its my first car and i want to really learn how to drive well in it and build up a 'no claims insurance' for future cheaper car insurance before getting a performance car so i'll have the knowledge and experience necessary to safely make the most of it, and wont get killed as bad on insurance charges. I plan to use the bmw for no more than 2 years before getting my second car, which will be the car i really want. right now my plan is to get a new Nissan GT-R sometime in 2010 though my choice of car might change between now and then (although this is unlikely since after a lot of looking into it, i've concluded the gt-r seems like pretty much the perfect car for me in every way). oh yeah the 318d is 143hp fwiw. no tuning, the m sport steering wheel just came as an extra in the model they had in stock
but oh man how am i to wait for this??

I don't see why my clothing comment suddently makes me a hater. Peachy seems like one of the nicest guys around here considering how good of a player he is and i dont have anything against him. But here we are going around picking up fancy cars from people in suites, but still dress like we just came from picking up the mail or something. Nothing wrong with spending some of that money on a new wardrobe imo |
He's picking up a car, not going to a fancy dinner wtf. |

Doesnt take much to get some people all worked up around here.
I have no special attachment to cloths, i dont go shopping alot or care about fashion. But i still think that it doesnt cost to much for someone to acctually care somewhat about how they look. Especially when poker players in general seem to be all about this so called "ballin" lifestyle of theires. With expensive watches and fancy cars.
And Kets future ride is totaly sick... |
