Herring deserves all the shit he gets. Herring had so much potential to become a great fighter, instead of grinding it out he has gotten lazy and is still overweight.

Lesnor works hard, and it has shown. People from Minnesota are workout machines xD

um muscles dont show what kinda shape you are in. ex fedor. heath works hard and fights nothing but top opponents. he deserves nothing but respect.

dont presume to know everything that went on between randy and the ufc which made him not fight for the past 14 months. im sure theres a lot more to it than what was made public.

and hating on randy for going 1-2 vs chuck liddell at 205 pounds when chuck was in his prime and is the 2nd most dominant 205 in history next to wandy is stupid. when you cut the 20-25 pounds randy had to to get there you lose some of what makes you so great at the higher weight class.

He should have won the fight against Nog... but he couldn't finish it because he was fucking fat and came into the fight over, he was gassed pretty quickly and he had no desire to win that fight.

tito & sylvia & gonzaga were all the same gameplan. clinch dirty box takedown. of course he threw looping rights on sylvia. watch any fight where there is a significant height & reach difference and you will see the same thing.

dunno maybe im just bitter about everything randys done lately.

nah tito was all him outwrestling him and dominating top position in every round. sylvia was outboxing head movement changing levels and takedown. gonzaga was pushing him against the fence and using level changing fakes to land shots and then to repush him against the fence. no offense i know you train mma/watch mma but if you didn't notice those then you probably need to rewatch the fights.

Also i train in clinch/wrestling myself so maybe it's far easier for me to notice these things.

well i call it as i see it and everything randy whined about the ufc proved wrong. randy was saying he was only making like 800k total from his two fights and the ufc came out and showed bank records etc showing he made WELL over that. like 3 million.

i dont hate on randy at all for losing those fights. im just saying he has no right to complain after the fact he got a title shot after being ko'd twice into retirement from a lhw. he should be jumping for joy the ufc gave him that opportunity. he was treated extremely well imo and got greedy.

none of which is really master game planning imo. set up takedowns clinch and take them down and control them. some small details change but thats something you see in most professional matchups.

vs sylvia: what else is there to do? pretty standard gameplan to throw overhands to get inside of tims range then clinch up and takedown. i think everyone knew this would be randys game plan here.

vs gabe: same thing basically. just use the fence more to neutralize gabes very good jiu jitsu. all wrestlers do this vs bjj guys. nothing special there. i also think gabe wins this fight had it not been for the accidental head butt broken nose thing. he quit after that.

i mean im not saying randy isnt a good fighter but i think hes very overrated and his gameplans are pretty basic and others have used the same game plans prior to randy in the same type of matchups.

when i think of really good game planning i think of fedor vs crocop.

dude the way he boxed lidell vs how he boxed sylvia is like COMPLETELY different.

Fox   . Nov 13 2008 23:07. Posts 3110

gabe never wins that fight cuz his gas tank is the size of a lawnmower and randy's is the size of gas station.

of course it is due to tim sylvias size. thats basics when fighting a much taller fighter. ;o

and against a passive outboxer like crocop you should press him?

i mean you think fedor is the god of gameplans but randy is just doing obvious stuff?

hmm i think lesnar would kill couture in the first round. if lesnar gets any better over time, i think lesnar vs fedor would be a whole lot better than couture vs fedor

about "brilliant planning" there isnt one, its a fight not chess, there is almost never a brilliant plan, the plans are pretty simple and straight foward, the execution is the hard part, you see fighters all the time loosing their plan in the middle of the heat, for example, last Koscheck's fight, it was very clear he was a better wrestler and he were outstriked the whole fight, he should have quickly realized that he was inferior in striking and should have gone for the takedown, he never did and he got owned by an underdog.

BTW this is a win/win situation for Dana White.

The guy who wins this will be shown to the world as the only contender to beat Fedor i guarantee it. (and none of them has a chance)

Yea but thats like Fedor and Fedor. You could say Barnett, but he COULD use losing a few, his cardio is not quiet there.
Thats like one guy on sherdog said "Every time I used to look in the mirror I saw a flabby middleaged man, now I see a heavyweight champion of the world."
Muscles>no muscles.

You guys argue like gameplans are rocket science. There are good and there are bad, there is nothing inbetween or above.

Randy's gameplan genius is in the fact that he always gets them right.
Consistency. Most important word. Ever.

And Fedor always claims to not have a gameplan xD
