Alcohol is one of the key things that makes life tolerable, if they told me it can shrink your penis permanently Id might give it a second though but who gives a shit about the brain lol |

This suits me fine, I've decided not to get really drunk for 2 or 3 weeks. |

Can you imagine how amazingly fun you would be having if you drank a little?

Yes its not like world would be such a fucking great place we could stand it without booze!
btw I don't really grasp how its any intresting to observe how alcoholz effects the size of the brains? Wouldn't its effect on IQ/memory/motorical abilities (well thats a bitch to measure compared to others) be more relevant? I mean having smaller brains matters only if it is shown to weaken other abilities so why bother measuring brain size in the first place when one could measure the relevant things directly? |

jesus how is it possible we disagree so vehemently on such a wide range of issues
How about this, I pity YOU because you must use chemicals or drugs to enjoy life. Rather than growing old and seeing your great grandkids and how beautiful that is you need instant gratification from poisons misfiring your brain. How pitiful
and yea, obv now you'll say at 44 you wouldnt mind dying at 45, but then when you have a life and hopefully a family and shit lets see if you wouldnt mind putting your family/friends through the horrendous pain of losing a spouse/father/brother/son/etc because he wanted "a 'more fun' short life than a long one" |

Let me put you an example son, an old teacher of mine in the university was a heavy smoker and drinker, he enjoyed those vices a lot and he was cherished by most of his students, one day his habits catch up with him and he is in very poor health, so the doctors tell him to quit drinking and smoking so he can prolong his life.
He was like 68 at the time, and well in a conversation pretty much everyone said that he should take care of his health etc etc so then i say "WTF are you morons talking about... this guy has 68 years old, he has lived like a champ every second of it, this man enjoys his drink and a nice smoke after, he has lived with no regrets, let him leave this world in his terms, holding to his precious pleasures, he doesnt need to stretch his life so he can live a couple of gray and tasteless extra years".
why do people focus on putting more years into their lives rather than more life into their years? |

trust me when i say i dont quite adhere to my above post, but im well aware that a day will come that ill have to pack all this shit in and hunker down for the long haul. Im not deluding myself into thinking I can be a heavy drinker and drug user on a weekday for the rest of my life |

i dont remember saying, do drugs till you die in a dark alley, all i said is that i better have a happy fast fullfilling short life than a log gray boring one.

idunno, id call a life like stu ungar's truly and utterly worthless and pitiful. i agree with skot, living hedonistically for the present is fine for a while but at some point in your twenties you have to grow up and start living for the future instead of the present. |
