Definitely not true. If you are an oldtimer, this might be the case because every agegroup has their "decade" of music. Pretty ignorant to say the last good music was made in the 90's. Also pretty damn ignorant for Loco to end thread /thread when its about peoples top3 albums, wtf. I mean that Kayo Dot might be the best album in the universe but i wouldn't know, just needed to point that out aswell.

cariadon, I posted this to put emphasis on the review that I had posted because it was a wall of text and most people obviously skipped it. but by putting /thread under it, it might want to make some of the people read it more, do you seriously think I expected people to stop posting their favorite albums?... lol
and yes, it is definitely without an ounce of a doubt one of the best albums ever and proof that modern music is not dead and anyone thinking so just doesn't know good modern artists.

i don't get why elitist say that rap and hiphop are different
rapping is one of the elements of hiphop as far as i know
MF doom is really good, very unique style. he's like a good version of immortal tech. i don't think he's better than mos def, (illmatic) nas, etc., but he's better than most of the underground stuff that's out nowadays

there would be waaay too much to talk about if we tried to compare rap and hip-hop and it would be futile in the end, but for what I think of it, all hip-hop is rap yes but not all rap is hip-hop. I'm a fan of hip-hop as a culture, not rap. there are way too many rappers out there who got it completely wrong and don't represent hip-hop at all and saying both things are the same is pretty dumb because of exactly that. I don't know about you, but I personally wouldn't say that I listen to rap, even though that's "what hip-hop is", because there are too many bad things associated with it and it would be a misrepresentation of what i'm really listening to.
I also don't see any reason to compare indie underground artists to such a big name as Nas and the masterpiece of an album as such as Illmatic is.

First of all, rap and hip-hop are not the same thing
Secondly, Immortal tech eats the rappers you just named for breakfast, including MF Doom.

lol if you think tech > nas and mos def
and loco already went into the whole rap==hiphop thing. rap IS a part of hiphop, but since rappers have tarnished it's name, people just don't affiliate rap with hiphop (the culture) anymore

just to show that doom is good, but not great i guess. mos and nas were the first two greats to come to mind
