Logiabs scamming

I just got wind that someone else staked Logiabs and the thread was closed so I'm making another one here cause this seems to be pretty important.

I staked Logiabs as well a few weeks ago and I made it very clear with him that he had to be active and also I had to have access to his account at all time. At first he disagreed and didn't want to give me his password, but then after Fayth told him it was standard in a staking deal he thought about it (wtf?) and finally accepted and I staked him for 50NL for $1.5K.

Today I hear about this thing where someone else staked him for $2.5K... wtf? I'm definitely thinking he's scamming after hearing that. So I try to login into his account and he's changed his password, I'm thinking he's cashing out if it hasn't been done already.

If it's not the case, please post in this thread Logiabs and explain yourself (good luck with that). I trusted Logiabs and I still can't believe he could have possibly scammed me. I have all his informations and hope for his sake he can explain himself.

I also forgot to mention that a week ago he left me a message on msn saying that his father had a heart attack and he hadn't been able to play poker at all.

I thought so too and I also think he's possibly retarded enough to not realize how bad this is and how bad it is to not even mention it to his stakers, but if we put everything together it's VERY unlikely that he isn't scamming.

edit: I've seen him post a bit on LP today, so I'm thinking there's a better chance he's not scamming, we'll have to wait until he sees the thread. I had no choice to make the thread cause he never logs in to msn.

I staked him like 9 month ago for a few weeks, it went smooth.
Its definately good to be cautious esp. if he broke some of the rules u agreed on, but I still believe he is trustworthy.

Dont loose hope Loco, i staked money to somebody who were previuosly staked and aslo asked for a stake after mine and he had several cash outs so i tought i lost my money but he is in the process of paying back, sometimes people have personal issues and they wrongly take this easy money but it doesnt always mean they will just steal it, so u might see your 1.5k back, the password changing is a huge BS tho.

I don't think making this thread is a big deal, tbh. It's simpler to settle things off of the site, but when your money is the line, you don't want to wait until someone gets on MSN, however rarely that is, to do something. Plus, who's to say he would even respond. When a potential scammer gets called out like this, they either have to GTFO (which they were probably doing anyways) or explain and fix the situation (obv there are more options than this but let's keep it simple).

Besides, nobody here is blowing it out of proportion. We all just want some of the white Colombian treasure.

I think I've had enough reasons to be doubtful and make this thread. Of course if I knew he logged in onto msn at a regular frequency or if I had his phone number or if he wasn't from fucking Colombia, it would help. I know he browses the website a lot though so it was my best way and I also want to let all LPers know that he's breached the verbal contract that we had by changing his password, even if he ends up not being scamming me. Also, not mentioning that he was staked by two different person is really something to worry about.

Threads like this are very important and I think this was plenty reason for concern. Scammers have a limited time window before the credibility of a handle goes to junk. It should be pretty clear that as a stakee you have a responsibility to the staker.

If a pw on the account was changed without notification that is plenty enough reason for the staker to start protecting the rest of the community with warnings such as in the OP. There's really no reason that anything like this should happen and certainly not without communication to the staker. If I was being staked I'd completely understand a thread like this if there was any concern and I could not be contacted immediately to resolve any potential concerns. Protection against scams should be paramount in the agreement and if there are any red flags with a stakee the community should be notified until it's cleared up and any stakee should be fine with that as part of their agreement.

I have staked people in the past and will probably seek a mtt stake of my own in the future and it's my opinion that it's the risk of being scammed that is sometimes the biggest concern and not the question of whether the player +EV player.

To be honest, i dont even believe this story about his father having a heart attack. People like Logiabs use storys like these to buy themselves time, and they are often just lying without scruples.

I'd be really interested in this novel staking idea. I would play on someone's account where he would log in and I would have no access to transfers and stuff (not sure how to do this but maybe a desktop sharing program or whatever). I would play 2-4 hours or whatever and get paid an hourly wage or 50$ or whatever (profit sharing deals would also work I guess but variance is such a bitch and wage would depend on the stakes).

logiabs always looked suspicious to me i just remember he was a donk sc player and when i saw his blog post saying he was going to cash out all his roll for paying his university i was like WTF why you need 10k to pay for university unless he had a huge debt or he was looking to pay for 2 years in advance assuming his university is that expensive for colombian standards (colombia right?)

I don't know. I've never really understood why people constantly ask for stakes. I really really don't understand. If you're good at poker, you should never have to ask for a stake in the first place.

It would take some RIDICULOUS series of events for someone who's a winner at nl100+ to go bust for whatever reason. Also, why the fuck would anyone cash out their roll if that's how they make money. I never stake. Seriously, only to people i know IRL, but even that's stupid. I just don't see how good players could lose their money. If they lost all their money, they're probably not good players in the first place and are never capable of being. And if they are determined enough to get good at poker, then they, like most everyone else, should start from the bottom at 1 cent 2 cent and build up their own roll. Not ask for others to stake them...IDK im drunkkzz :/

I'm 100% like you though and can't imagine how I could possibly be in that situation myself BUT I understand how others could. just look recently what happened to day[9] who was a steady winner at mid stakes, unpredictable can happen.

I've also said that I have seen SCREENSHOTS of his winrate. It was my first stake ever in two years, so don't think I throw stakes to everyone, if I staked him it's because I saw it as a +EV investment (obviously wrong if we're being results oriented here) even if you aren't a great player you can beat those stakes for a pretty decent winrate by just grinding lots of hands which he did.

also people please STOP fucking mentioning you wouldn't've staked logiabs. it is COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT and I don't need to hear it from anyone nor do I care.
