Anyway, im willing to bet i was the first non-colombian that logiabs made friends with on BW. We were such good friends, played alot and even discussed our personal lives together. Up until only recently did he change though, he started getting really irritated by simple conversations with me about poker/whatever and eventually it became hard to talk to him. Not long ago he claimed he "didnt give a fuck" about anything i had to tell him and that i was bothering him whenever i mentioned poker(because that was really all we could relate to since our bw days were over). He has been on msn often up until about 2 days ago(when the accusation took place) but since then has yet to sign on(not exactly sure what this means).

Anyway the point about all of this is : i HIGHLY doubt you will get your money back loco. Hes not the same guy i used to know, doesnt give a fuck about anyone but himself right now and has some serious issues overall. sorta feel like i saw this coming awhile back, its a shame he sunk this far though.

What movie is that from?

Taken - see the second trailer here.

"I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you're looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that'll be the end of it. But if you don't, I will look for you. I will find you. I will kill you."

Too many posts to read all of this while at work, but from scanning the pages I don't see a post by Logiabs and you'd figure that by now he woulda defended himself if he wasn't a scammer... so are we at the point where we are saying he definitely scammed loco? Or are people still arguing that it could be a misunderstanding?

sorry to hear of this loco. when i posted about logiabs spending your money on girls and yachts and such...i was joking and thought he would immediately post and clear things up. when he moved up to 1/2 and .5/1, and even .25/.50 even, i was surprised because it always seemed he lost at his limit, and at the very best was marginal winner (I may be wrong, but....)

as someone who plays on some tourney stakes, i am a bit upset that someone from this community has scammed or abused a stake. it makes it more difficult for honest players and backers to come together.

i think there should be some sort of 'staking' section for LP where players who look for stakes and have completed stakes can have stats shown, verified completion of stakes, etc. this helps people who venture into staking or looking for a stake. it isnt just hearsay or someone's word "i completed this...or my winrate was this....here is a screen shot!" but the info can be verified by established players and checked over by the community.

i am sorry logiabs scammed you, hopefully he will 'get his.'

I did read it and i couldn't find anywhere if its normal to get someones personalia (adress and so on) when giving him/her a stake.

Imho it definitely should be, remember, people are pigs lol.

Too bad for you Loco and even worse for people that want to ask for a stake somewhere in the future ( fuck me lol).

seriously fuck these kind of people, if it was from a totally random person at least i could kinda understand but this is a fucking community...

now lets hope this is all just paranoid bullshit, and that he will explain everything in a day or two

it's not like it matters that much, Loco doesn't care all that much about 1.5k, sure it's a gay loss, but on the long run, loco will still be the winner, whereas logiabs is going absolutely nowhere doing this

nope.

Sounds quite unlikely to me that they would give any info. And would it help if they did? It's quite clear he did scam the monies and there is no use for the information on if he cashed out or not, whatever the case may be.

Pokerstars shouldn't do something like that. The only reason that I use pokerstars over other sites is because I feel secure with my money on there. If they did something like this it would erode player confidence in that aspect.

When making a decision to stak ethe staker should know full well that they may not get there money back. In a staking position its very probable that you will lose all your money but on the flip side its very probable that you could double or triple your money. Its a very risky investment - if you want safe 100% returns go buy some municipal bonds or something. Sucks that loco got scammed but I'm sure he understood the possibility prior to giving a stake.

Now I really am a busto. Thanks FTP.

Fayth: everyone understands that loco is a baller and 1.5k is not going to hurt him too much financially, he isnt going to lose too much sleep over it, etc, but yes, it is a big deal. part of this poker community is the integrity that should come with being a member. it is the principle that supports staking/backing in the first place. otherwise, how about you stake me 5-10k, cause if i dont pay you back it wont be a big deal. after all, if i lose the stake or act shady with it, you will still be a winner, and i would be whatever.

the fact of the matter is, some solid players have, in the past, openly and publicly sought a stake, such as StimAbuser (a winner at 1/2 for a long time), and he couldn't get one. People have ruined the opportunity for others by behaving in less than ethical manners.

It really is a need for this site that we have some sort of validation for those who operate honestly because in the cyber world of anonymity people are able to get away with a lot more than they could in person. that is why some have suggested that, if you or anyone else is to stake someone, know them in person with access to them daily. like a good friend, etc. this does not have to be the case. some see backing others as a favor, some see it as a shrewd business move where the backer can have financial gains, some apparently do it and expect nothing (or the person to lose the money).

some may be embarressed to make it relatively public information on when they receive a stake, or give a stake. the person receiving may feel they are above borrowing money to play, where in the past they had ample amounts to support themselves, whatever the reason for needing it. the backer may not want to make himself/herself a target; a larger number of people look for a stake, they get hassled, etc. but i think the pros far outweigh the cons.

my backer for tourneys wishes to remain anonymous and i have to respect that, although if i screwed him over how fast would he post here to clarify an issue? there are probably more staking deals that happen on LP than any one person is really aware of, and sadly, a staking agreement that has been made typically only comes to light when one of the parties behaves in a questionable or downright wrong manner.

i think some 'staking' section would be good, to protect both parties and those interested. yes, mostly those who are staked act shady, but does anyone remember when nazgul removed money from ASDF's account when they had a stake/loan agreement, and there was the huge topic on that?

sorry for the long post, but i just feel that it is imperative to sort out all the staking business so less people are taken advantage of and we can keep this a reputable (in poker skill and in morals) community.
