i think youre missing the point.
the vids wont be "shit" but they arent going to be great. if they are signed into a long term agreement, they really have no incentive to make a really good video.
its a pretty logical concept imo. if you make a few videos that are really amazing, and the site becomes really successful partially because of these videos then you as the site owner profit a ton, while the video maker gets his flat rate. sure you might increase how much they make for future videos, but with no profit sharing incentive, there is going to be a lot less motivation to make a video of the same quality, or even better. |

I see what you're saying. How about we just say I'm undecided about the payment for now. I'll discuss this with the coaches. |

You might want to consider ironing out payment plans asap. I'm not saying you won't get good applicants, but as it stands I could see why a lot of qualified possible applicants - possible wobbly, would simply not even bother filling out the app.
But best of luck with your site. |

Well you come on this site asking for people to become coaches for you and then you flat out ignore all of the advice they are giving you. You seem to have a very set and inflexible idea about how you want to do things for this business and don't appear to be willing to admit that you might have some things wrong. Also having basically no plan for pay-structure this far into the game is not satisfactory. It makes you look unorganized and unprofessional. |

Its quiet the opposite actually, a businessman who is already looking to launch his business has to have inflexible ideas. Frankly its his willingless to change the paygrade is what alarms me. The salaries arent just a random set of numbers, they have to be carefully calculated considering expected revenue, otherwise its; hello, bankruptcy. |

I haven't ignored any of the advice that I've been given. Even though I hadn't asked for advice in the first place. Even if I hadn't replied to it, I am taking it all into consideration. Don't think that this is unorganized.
I'm pretty firm on providing a flat-fee right now. In the future this may change, and a salary could be introduced instead or in addition to this. But for now this is how it is.
I'm not trying to argue with anyone, and I may not be doing this perfectly, but I never claimed that I was. I'm doing this the way I think will work out best for everyone from my experience with business, and I'll be treating the coaches very well.
I've already got a number of applications and have a few people creating sample videos to see how they go. |

most of the talented players from this site who aren't already in CR or DC are actively giving away microstakes videos for free 8D |

Big, you realize the advice you are giving to this guy who is completely out of touch with the poker scene has actual $ value? People pay to here the obvious basics of how to run one of these coaching sites, idk why you bother to educate some random fish for free when clearly he is going to fail but presently hopes to make easy money from people like us.
To OP
LOL at saying you are 100% positive this will work, everyone who starts up a new business is positive they are going to succeed yet over 90% of them fail. I have no respect for a random who comes to respectable poker community and tries to get easy money, whether it be a scam or by some fucked up business plan.
GTFO imo

Thing is, anyone who is a decent winner at 600NL+ won't be doing video's that usually take around 2 hours to make on average (for me anyway) for a measly 150~200$.
So you're looking at coaches from limits like.. 200NL? |
