You don't have anything to worry about Today all they're doing is testing the machine. They won't be shooting particles until like Oct 10th I think.

Although it has gotten a 'Y2K' twist to it because a few radicals 'scientists' claim it'll create a blackhole. But if this is true the blackhole would be so small + would dissapate.

potentially 2+ hours wait wtf

okay fuck that id rather die to a black hole

if poker is dangerous to them i would rank sports betting as a Kodiak grizzly bear who smells blood after you just threw a javelin into his cub - RaiNKhAN

and what results do we want to hear

Svenman87   United States. Sep 10 2008 01:59. Posts 4636

fakeshaver have you read this entire thread? if not I would re-read. it'll explain a lot of what they're doing.

fakeshaver   United States. Sep 10 2008 02:16. Posts 1313

kk read. So what potential benefits could we receive from this research?

Svenman87   United States. Sep 10 2008 02:17. Posts 4636

actually it's kinda funny but the CERNA rap explains it all very well

Sorry i'm just too lazy to type it all xD
Lots of benefits to this research.

I dont know why you guys say if they created a black hole it would be so small it would dissapear again, since the nature of a black hole is that it sucks up matter and grows. A very small black hole could grow very big in a matter of milliseconds, just like a nuke, the black hole sucks up one atom, get more mass and can suck even more matter up even faster

I started out with nothing and I still got most of it left

Firstly it'd be created in a vacuum. Secondly, Hawking radiation. It needs to gain a critical mass to suck in enough to counteract the energy lost, it won't and therefore it'll burn out.

there are millions things more interesting and entertaining than physics. like sex, food, drinking, diving, discos ... sex.., okay, maybe not millions but plenty. i am sure 99.99% of the people in the world don't give a shit about physics and don't want to know 'how the world started'. that's bullshit. i prefer to know how to always give orgasms to my girfriend. so basically those physican scientists are like 3k-4k and i am sure they all are the retards with big glasses that you make fun of when you see them at school/college. they don't enjoy sex, they don't enjoy discos, they are muffs and now they will try to destroy the world because they can't do nothing else. if you think for a second, what do you prefer - live your life and enjoy the SIMPLE THINGS that we know are the truth of real happiness or trying to know 'how the world started' but having the chance of destroying it. imo it's not worth it... too little useless information for big risk. there is always a chance to 'mess up' the things no matter what they say. so what will you do tomorrow if you know 'how the world started'. you will do NOTHING. you would not came feeling pleasure, you will not be rich, you win NOTHING. just a little more knowledge - one answer. so risking the world for an answer is not EV+. it's a joke. so no matter what will happen tomorrow for me and the 99.99% of the world the answer will mean zero.

Don't make me ashamed that im half bulgarian plz.

Edit: Btw, it seems almost everyone in Bulgaria believes this...
I didnt go to physics college several years ago, because every goddamn moron was "wtf, physics sucks, you gotta be kidding me", including my parents... ffs

from what ive seen and read this isnt really a risk at all. They are sure they cant create a black hole.. if thye do by accident, which is the .0000000000000000000000001% chance.. then the thing will disappear rly fast.. not swallow the earth.

Chance of creating black holes is existing. Chance of them being harmful is not.

the odds of them being created are neglectable, we dont worry about 0.00000000001% probabilities or we wouldnt be able to move in fear of dying every second from a lightning.
