villain is semi-frustrated with me, not apeshit or anything but I think he definitely feels that I have tried to run him over recently. He has had a winning session imo but is playing for too long and is starting to lose focus and his stacks are slowly deteriorating. I don't think he's good, he knows what he's doing but is generally on the weaker side and not one you have to look out for. How do I extract max given his current profile? ..

Villian is frustrated with you so you 3 bet preflop from the SB with J9s? Why?

casinocasino   Canada. Jul 03 2008 21:35. Posts 3347

And you luckbox a straight vs an opponent that you percieve to be frustrated with you and playing back at you some what light, what other option do you have then to reraise?

casinocasino   Canada. Jul 03 2008 21:35. Posts 3347

Oh I just noticed your Swedish, you have no choice but to shove all in.

Some more info on this guy. He's terrible and plays really bad in 3bet pots so I 3bet him a ton as well. He almost never plays back.

I like CIB and shove river if he calls.

getting it in here probably isn't good even if he is frustrated. calling and c/r'ing blank rivs probably optimal in my mind.

calling and c/cing or c/rai rivs is good imo, usually his range is 85% air and thats the only way u give him another option to bluff

locoo   Peru. Jul 05 2008 13:12. Posts 4566

I would call and check river to extract max value, he isn't gonna do anything to a raise from you this deep even if he is super frustated if hes got nothing, and only will if he has a boat, cuz he would 100% raise a 7 on the flop

locoo   Peru. Jul 05 2008 13:16. Posts 4566

maybe a call/little donk blocking like lead on river to get raised? that would be sexy and he might do raise that if he got air out of frustation, am i just being too tricky and naive

I clicked it back to him and he called in less than 2 secs. river was 9h and I pushed my last $1.6k which in retrospect was a mistake. He folded. I dunno if he would have bet but since he has complete air so often he might be frustrated enough to bet. Plus I know he was starting to get irritated, I can't believe I didn't give him a chance to hang himself. I'm playing too many tables

Stygg   Sweden. Jul 05 2008 15:18. Posts 2347

and he never calls without a massively big hand so I really dunno what I was thinking pushing river..

Stygg   Sweden. Jul 05 2008 15:20. Posts 2347

correct way to play this imo is clicking it back on the turn in 2 secs and then when river comes 9h, taking a long time before checking

Daut    United States. Jul 05 2008 15:22. Posts 8955

i think call check call is best. agree with mez reasoning

I dont like calling, it will extract minimum too often against this player to make it worthwhile

man I was also thinking this would just be a perfect moment for re-minraise
and ive never actually done that in my life, but this one just seemed absolutely perfect for that.

you're out of position right? I don't know that I can cold call this turn and check to him on the river without wanting to give up poker after this hand. repop it up a little maybe 1600 total and move in on the river.

poker is soooo much easier when you flop sets

min3b induces a shove from tilted air a reasonable %

yeah but i think calling and check/calling or raising does a higher % of the time

just seems from his perspective that'll he'll have less fold equity shoving over our CiB than it would if we just called and let him bet river
