platinum = 5700 FPPs = 98$ = 82% rakeback
supernova = 7980 FPPs = 137$ = 114% rakeback

if Pokertracker calculates the rake paid right

i just realised i had a filter for NL(2) but i also played some pot limit.

i paid 147$ in rake. so 67% for platinum and 93% for supernova

Supernova's probably around 70% but if your Supernova Elite you're probably getting over 100% especially when the later weeks promotions come. There are supposed to be 3 more weeks of promotions that get better and better for the whole month of July. On the page it even mentions something called "double the pot" in cash games which sounds delicious.

Yea after playing some more I'm pretty confident that the average game at least for NL200/NL400 is significantly harder and saturated with regulars whoring the vpps. I don't think the extra vpp even begins to put a dent in how much less money I can make with the games this much harder.

well technically
rakeback is part of your winrate. its just a winrate u would sustain if u only had to pay 70% of the rake instead of 100%. Its sort of the same difference that live they rake twice as hard so you have to win at an even higher margin to make the same money.

Though I will say that while i was moving up all the way to 2/4 i NEVER used any of the money i made in rakeback towards my bankroll. Its important to see that, though yes its part of your winrate technially, the more important thing in that situation is ur EDGE in the games, and the fact that you have to take your time as you go through the stakes to make sure your edge grows evenly along with your bankroll

Err, the rake is directly taken from the money you win off of other players so it's artificially making your "edge" look smaller. Your actual edge is simply $earned if no rake had been taken out.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that your post doesn't make any sense to me, or at least your arguements don't. I definately agree that bankroll grows faster than skill though.

The double guarantee's is pretty sick if you play the right tournaments. I love how they are like "we are leaving registration open longer, so you can buy-in even after others bust" aka we're leaving it open to try and make sure the tournaments fill up to the guarantee so we won't have to pay out! Nice guys really. If they wanted to make this PROMO sick they should have said for week two its 2x VPP's AND double-guarantees and just have it keep building like that all through the month. Keeping the previous weeks 2x Promo and adding something to it. Still its going to be a fun month!

The doubling of the prize pool for me didn't really live up to the weeks 2 and 3 "to good to announce here" hype listed in the schedule.

Double guarantee sounds quite nice actually. Some tourneys become much more attractive, such as the daily 50k.

here I went well 1st DAY. up 4bi broke even for a couple thousand hands then spiralled down to 8.5 bi after 35 to 40k hands. fuck that experience. I'm definitely not going to be suckered into playing tons again to act as pstars rake machine. everyone was playing very trickily, trying to extract value out of their hands, coz honestly NO ONE was going in without the absolute nuts, and the result was everyone had a fucked up hand range which is actually bad news (variance in FR for me was at a whole new level) for everyone involved except of course, who else but POKERSTARS who def made a killing in rake while giving a lot of people breakeven money LOL

what's even sicker is that in my PT, I only see a couple of coolers meh

I like they idea of this week's action, but many of their guaranteed tourneys normally hit like 1.5x the normal guaranteed prizepool right? So with the hype they make of it there are so many more players gonna do MTT's that this isn't gonna cost them a considerable amount of money right? Or am I overlooking something...

they are running freerolls to upgrade your vpp status. you can join only one freeroll and the one for supernova awards top two finishers supernova elite status. the one for platinum awards the winner supernova elite and 2-27 get upgraded to supernova.

it would be quite sick to get upgraded to SNE but it looks like the fields will be huge with only a 1 or 2 getting SNE upgrade. All in all, it kinda sucks but at least I'd say its better than double the pot BS.
