YOU CAN JUST SKIP TO THE OWNAGE PART
------------------------------------------------------------
So I was bored after donking 1.4k on NL1k in 5 minutes and decided to watch Hulk (i really expected more from this movie) and then hit my local casino's 10/20 NL
Sadly when I got there were just 1/2 tables going, asked if they were playing 10/20 at the VIP, they said no, but promised me 2/5 action if enough people wanted to play.
So I happily sat down at 1/2 and started my ipod searching for When you were young on Youtube from the killers. Got it in tune before the first hand.
First hand got 75cc, there was a straddle obv, so I called the 2$ more UTG, some guy raised to 13$ and like 4 ppl called.
flop came QJKcc , guy that raised PF bet 20$, everyone folds and I made some drama and called, turn was another club and I just shipped it in, got a call from AAc I held and doubled up.
Then some uninteresting steals and the 2/5 action started with like 9 players. I raised this one seemingly aggresive guy 2 or 3 times in position, winning on the flop, and won a couple pots with trashy hands, looking to get him on tilt, but I never lost my solid image.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Then this hand happens:
(We were 600$ deep) The same guy limps UTG as he has been doing a lot, another guy jumps in, I have QK raised to 40$, everyone folds cept those two.
pot : 120$
flop : 9K5dd
aggresive? guy fires 60$, other guy folds, and I think to myself "great, I'll calldown and let him hang himself with a weak K or a draw/nine, whaetever", so I called.
pot : 240$
turn : 8o
guy insta fires 150$, I thought for a while and decided he was gonna bluff river, and called.
pot : 540$
river : 2o
He thinks a little and says, how much you have left? I answer 350$ ("And ready to call your all in" , he then mumbles "what can he have, a set?", thinks a little more and bets 250$. I timed out, I am a guy that calls a lot, and am usually right unless I really doubt I have the best hand, when the latter happens I usually timebank and call, and then muck.
I timebanked, fucking folded, and the guy showed 64dd for the bluff.
I just got owned by a live poker player. His talk and betting really confused me.
My casino is usually is full of call stations/passive players, no1 really bluffs (this guy didn't show a bluff before, was just betting, and showed AA once betting really good), so is my fold justified?, i still don't know how to feel about it.

why did you call the turn bet if you fold river because of a 2o? |

probably because the guy said "how much have you got left" and then bet $250 into a $400 pot seemingly for value |

what i meant is in live poker u can get out psyched by ppl and sure if ur living in a vacuum so to speak then what u said might be true, on the other hand when ur playing against someone and they act really strong its a different matter
espcecially if u call and get towned by some live guy, its embarassing |

lol props to him for the good table talk, that would scare me too. Guys its ok to change ur mind when new information comes to light, i this case it was the tabletalk on the river. Its not horrible to fold there, just obv not standard. take a mental note that this guy is capable of shit like that. |

his bet is too weak on the flop to indicate a strong hand in a drawy board. everything after that looks weak but meant to show strength. Ez ship that got psych pwned by table talk. It is interesting how much table talk can affect anyone, even that rat jamie gold has managed to make/save more money then his donkey ass should ever have because he talks so much. |

| I have learned from poker that being at the table is not a grind, the grind is living and poker is how I pass the time | |
