The 6 table 5/10 NLHE 6max vid is awesome. I think it's the best one I saw so far. It's just so sick informative, like how to deal with shortstackers/squeezing/getting people on tilt. Just awesome.

It's one 2 hour session that he's splitting up in 3 pieces. The first one got up at 9 may, so for those who haven't watched it yet, I strongly urge you to do so.

didnt we all get a lot of help from other people to accelerate our poker learning from when we were first trying to improve a lot, in some way or another? like advice from better players or lurking forums reading hand discussion posts of better players. I know me and teej gained a ton of amazingly valuable info and insight from railing/speaking to twistedecho and lurking 2+2 sng/ssnl/msnl forums when we started.

to accept that sort of help with open arms when you most need it, then once youve gotten good enough to make a living to then start speaking out against it and not wanting players that are earlier in their poker progression in the same place you once were to get the same help and enlightenment you once enjoyed, seems pretty cowardly and unreasonable.

and that's the standard response from someone who is now making these videos, directly contradicting your own viewpoint on the subject from a few weeks ago when you weren't making them.

I also thought Ket said something about how it doesn't make sense to teach people how to get better at poker.. But it's very possible I'm just confusing him with someone else who was in that debate, and he might very well have been on the other side hehe. So that's probably where the confusion comes from.

However, regardless of this, he does post in hand discussion

EDIT: Oh and Ket has for sure always been one of the people telling new players to get cardrunners.

Yeah Ket you did say something like that if I remember correctly that it's not a big deal anything you've always given some help nonetheless, I'm gonna go watch your vid on CR, I'm guessing that your first?

I remember Ket saying something about CR too when it really exploded... but whatever, he definitely didn't mean it in an assholish ungrateful way.

Back on topic I thought the second part just came out (and was the reason for this thread) so damn you Twisted for getting my hopes up

Join when you are at NL 50 - NL 100 imo.. depends on how big your BR is, but couple of buyins could definitely be worth it already at NL 50 (say you have 2500 something)

I'm also more likely to be sit'n'go / torunament player

Posting on this forum , while hating to teach new/other people play better seems oxymoron to me.
Yes, random people will improve their play with ur help and get better, but if ur really smart/talented u have nothing to worry about.

For somebody who apparently has spoken out about helping people Ket has always been one of the quickest to discuss things and help me whenever I brought anything to him.

I learned most of my shit the hard way but I can't deny the fact that i picked up a few thing from reading LP.

I honestly don't care about the material coming out as people will have to really WANT to get better to actually get better.

Another thing to add is the there is no substitute for experience. There's a huge difference in someone who's playing for fun but also wanting to get good vs someone who's played for a living for years and devoted huge amounts of his/her life into the game.

What percentage of the pool will watch these videos tho ? Not much if you ask me, nothing you have to worry about. People don't want to learn how to play poker for the biggest part, and the ones who want only a few will succeed.

Odds are exactly 50%, either happens or it doesnt

Pretty good video Ket, I really suggest doing two HU or 2-4 6max games because it is indeed confusing with two table. If you play 5-10 regularly then it might be interesting at these stakes, 2/4 was fine tho.

VanDerMeyde   Norway. May 16 2008 10:51. Posts 5127

Its a little bit the same as replays in starcraft, every time a well known Jaedong replay out is out, you know all the zergs are gonna 2 hatch muta for like a month. But its also good cuz you know how all the grinders will play. Every time a CTS video is out you know you can oepn a little bit tighter preflop and win a ton of buyins since all the regulars start 3bet/4bet/5bet as a bluff and will 3 barrel as a bluff when u check/call down with TPTK+. At least I find the regulars start playing way way overaggro. Just as an example thou.

^ this is true, not necessarily because of CTS though, looks of reg suffer from fancy play syndrome.

I noticed this as well. A few months ago the small 4bet bluff pf was new and now everyone is doing it.

There is a big difference between watching these videos and implementing it.

You go to a calculus class and learn from a PHD but that doesn't mean most people aren't still going to struggle to grasp concepts / solve problems.

for the student to rise to the level of teacher takes more than a few classes; people are still going to have to work hard to get good and most people aren't going to put in the effort/time.

traxamillion   United States. May 16 2008 16:17. Posts 10468

People who play this game seriously are going to get marginally better slightly faster watching these videos. Most of one's winrate is not from these players in the first place so CTS chopping out a vid isn't going to change things in a catastrophic way. Get better faster than other people are getting better = $.

If I were to do it over again, I'd join card runners with a 0$ bankroll.
