not so much. quality sucks in most of them. and like 1/3 of the links are usually dead. plus sometimes u get korean or chinese subtitles. but i still use it esp. for TV series while I'm at the uni and can't use any p2p (uncluding torrents)

But it's basicly the ftp servers where they dump everything and then it gets spread out to us lesser beings via newsgroups/torrents/p2p.



edit: so it's really only private trackers on that list that's somewhat realistic

And I wouldn't steal a DVD from a blockbuster store. But i would download the specifications of a car if I wanted to make one myself, or a purse, or a movie.

Downloading stuff is copying it - the original is left intact. There is a large difference between stealing someone's car (taking their property, now they don't have it) and downloading a movie (copying the movie - they still have the original).

Did anyone read his post??? I'll put the part in bold you should pay EXTRA special attention too. He wants to download the versions that can be burned to his DVD player (the ~4 gig downloads) and many people here are suggesting sites with their listed intention of providing good divx quality vids. Despite the fact that many of you are inadvertently pointing him in the right direction with that advise.

Make not a DVD with all of the files is around 4 gigs, not just under 700 megs. To answer your question, demonoid is by far the best service that I have used that is free. However (as someone else pointed out) the site has been down for a while now. I do not know the status of it, however I will do some research and post back in a bit.

EDIT - Also I advise against downloading the unrated version of knocked up. They put in some video of a live birth that seems really out of place, I really didn't expect it. To make it very clear, I mean they show a baby coming directly out of a vagina.
