I should clarify that obviously I am not making every woman laugh and in my role I am playing more of a game of risk a little to win a lot. I don't need to be going out of my way to put myself and a customer in a cringe situation. There are laughs though and even more smiles. It's interesting to try and figure out ways to greet people all day with out being a robot or wanting to blow the brains out. There are expert garment sorting techniques but that is where I start thinking the most about being a drone collecting minerals for the base. If no one was there it would wreck the shift for the managers in charge but it is a job that most people could pick up pretty quickly so they could easily just hire temporary workers. It would hurt business but I don't know if it would get bad enough so that the workers would have enough leverage. There is also the question of if anyone would vote for a union in the first place.

I think I should probably still look for game tester jobs. There have been 0 local jobs. I would imagine that once I can build trust at any remote job and get some experience the field opens up tremendously. A lot of the remote jobs are not actually remote and others seemingly want some trust built up + experience.

As my current job gets easier by the day it's not that bad of a gig all things considered. We will see.

A lot of the remote jobs in the gaming industry are temporary due to covid measures, at least where I live. We are in almost full lockdown now with a nightly curfew so no one's working in office (but even before that, I was able to work from home). It doesn't look like the US is going to be implementing such measures any time soon, so you might be out of luck. I am dreading the point where I may not be able to keep doing this for whatever reason down the road because it's the ideal job for me. When I was hired I was told it was a forever-going project so I am not expecting it to end, unless for some reason Stadia was going to be abandoned by Google, but that's doubtful at this point.

Your job is something I imagine would get really old and dreadful 6 months to a year in. But still probably better than being unemployed, especially with debts. I'm surprised you are even allowed to work with customers when you live with your at-risk parents and this Omnicron variant is so contagious.

Yeah, I would say most of the game tester jobs I found were based in California and were temporary remote or remote but favor people living in California (or WA or wherever).

Yeah, once I become an expert in my area it's probably tough going. I could get cross trained on other areas but I don't want to do those jobs (cashier, stock, warehouse, etc.). They seem worse than what I am currently doing. I could look to be a manager which in this case doesn't seem horrible but the line is long for a currently 0 amount of spots. Like I said, we will see.

My dad is convinced Omnicron is nothing. My mom is fearful but she is babysitting for my sister. The options are my dad pays me to stay home, I try to go on disability, or I work. They want me to work. My opinion is that the vaccines are not vaccines since they do not grant immunity. I don't really know enough about Omnicron to have an opinion on that. I am surprised I have not gotten it yet to be honest.

My dad has done a tremendous job over the last couple of years of losing weight and getting down to a more normal weight. The reality, though, is that he is 67, overweight, with a leaky heart valve and lost the weight with atkins/keto principles. He is delusional of this reality. He also thinks because his friends were working on mRNA technology back in the 70s at his university that he is an expert in this field. Again, the reality is that he flunked out of graduate school although it is true that he is very knowledgeable in chemistry. He likes to think of himself as a scientist but recently when my sister brought a more recent pier reviewed paper from the Cleveland Clinic to his attention that contradicted a lot of his views he said, "I've already made up my mind on this subject. I have no interest in reading that paper." His main source of media is Fox News. This was a bit of a long winded post to say that yes, he thinks that he is healthy and will be asymptomatic.

The hope is to phase out this website with better things to do. I have tried subbing other interwebs but that never seems to work. For some reason I come back here. Ideally, I do find something that is low key that can kill some time when the void / abyss is weighing on me. It helps that this website is virtually dead but I am not always going to have better things to do especially in the beginning. Sometimes it is hard to pick up the guitar or put in a coding sesh or go to an AA meeting. I could just go full fashionista and waste my life and soul on Hypebeast but that seems terrible. "HYPEBEAST: Moving Culture Forward" ... Lol. Another problem is I am pretty worn out after a day of work. The work is not difficult but just the fact I am on my feet all day scurrying around and I get tired of customers too.
