I learned to never talk about those things to anyone that is not directly asking about it. I have a budda tattoo on my arm so often people ask me if I'm buddhist. I don't consider myself a buddhist exactly, but I rather say yes than having to explain that buddha is just one among many masters that incarnated in this earth. There are so many people out there who have adopted similar beliefs as yours. You know most of the population of the US believes in angels? Superstitious beliefs are in vogue and they are not going anywhere. The more difficult the real world gets, the more people resort to finding refuge in escapism. For some people it's drugs, for others it's work, for others it's religion, and for others like you the most seducing option is pseudo-religious New Age spirituality. It's all perfectly understandable. What would be truly shocking was if most of the human population was readily facing reality.
