We might have a situation where we never have one and it keeps mutating out of the vaccine protection like it happens for influenza. It's actually quite surprising that we haven't had a similar virus cycling through the population until now.... when you think about how "the flu" is basically a synonym to mild symptoms of cold or having a virus simply because the majority of the time you would have influenza. COVID-19 apparently already has a few thousand mutations, however the vaccines are allegedly supposed to handle them as well

Influenza isn't a virus but a type of virus just like coronavirus.

The vaccine is targeted for SARS-COV-2 so it will erradicate it and probably offer cross protection to other human coronaviruses, the Flu vaccine doesn't erradicate it because as I said its caused by hundreds of viruses, so its basically just a shot that targets the influenza viruses that are going around the world that time.

So one of the mutations appears to be troublesome and possibly avoids existing antibodies and can infect people that already had the original strain. Many countries started banning people from the UK since that's where it's found

Appears that there is not enough data, it's only confirmed that the virus spreads almost twice faster than the original strain though, the double-infection is not confirmed yet.... potentially we got a vaccine but in the mean time the virus mutate well enough that we need another one....

There are already over 4000 mutations but almost all of them are insignificant... this strain appears to be an actual issue though

Most of Europe and other countries banned travel from UK, however cases of this strain has been detected in italy and netherlands, however most of the countries still have their borders open if you thought governments learned anything from this, think twice.

Moderna took like 60 days to develop its vaccine, so the age of year-long vaccine development is over... however the year long bureaucratic mess that is testing keeps on living.

Might be a political bullshit since the strain is known since March but nothing was done and only now do they decide all of those measures exactly when Brexit is due too...

There are very few cases where economic sanctions actually worked, and in many cases they just made things worse, as in iraq or venezeula-while the regime stayed in charge. if millions of people stopped buying things from China it would screw over working people, and not the CCP, who would happily continue repressing uyghurs. Also this whole debate on the repression of Uygur muslims is the pinnacle of hypocrisy. There are multiple cases in the world in which people are being treated similarly or worse than the Uyghurs which could probably be ended with a single sentence from the president, yet for some reason we have to get upset about the one in a country where we can't do anything about it.

The point being that if you did want to boycott an entire country there are plenty of better reasons than the maltreatment of a dog
