- A light heavyweight bout between Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and Jared Cannonier, briefly linked to UFC Fight Night: Poirier vs. Pettis, was instead scheduled for this event. However on October 19, it was announced that Nogueira was pulled from the card after being notified by USADA of a potential doping violation, which resulted from an out-of-competition sample collected on Sept. 27. The violation was due to a positive test for hydrochlorothiazide. He was replaced by Jan Blachowicz on November 7.
- A light heavyweight bout between former UFC Light Heavyweight Championship challenger Glover Teixeira and Misha Cirkunov was expected to take place at UFC Fight Night: Brunson vs. Machida, but was moved to this event after a recent hand injury for Teixeira was slow to heal and required surgery. (This means Teixeira needed an extra 1.5 months to heal his hand, which tells me he wasn't using it in training during those last 1.5 months...)
- Former WEC Featherweight Champion and two time UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo was scheduled to face former title challenger Ricardo Lamas in a rematch in the co-headliner. The pairing met previously at UFC 169 in February 2014, with Aldo defending his title via unanimous decision. However, Aldo was removed from the bout on November 10 in favor of a rematch against the current champion Max Holloway two weeks earlier at UFC 218 after Holloway's scheduled opponent, former UFC Lightweight Champion Frankie Edgar pulled out of that fight. He was replaced by Josh Emmett on November 27.
- A middleweight bout between Vitor Miranda and Julian Marquez was expected to take place at this event; however it was announced on December 4, 2017 that Miranda was pulled from the fight, citing injury and was replaced by Darren Stewart on December 4. (Stewart recently lost via submission in Round 1 on November 11)
- Sultan Aliev and Sheldon Westcott were removed out of their respective fights against Nordine Taleb and Danny Roberts for undisclosed reasons. Taleb and Roberts are now expected to face each other. (Both Taleb and Roberts were originally scheduled to get easy wins over two shitty fighters, but now they have to face each other in a touch match-up)
- A flyweight bout between Tim Elliott and Justin Scoggins was expected to take place at this event; however it was announced on December 4, 2017 that Scoggins was pulled from the fight, citing spinal fracture injury. He was replaced by promotional newcomer Pietro Menga on December 4.

Heart says lawler but head says RDA
RDA is fast and Robbie is used to slow burn fights, unlimited cardio with some decent pop, it aint gonna be as easy as him mauling a 155lb guy thats for sure

I've been waiting for Lawler to get his ass kicked but it turns out wrong every time. Condit, Rory etc.. i'm always rooting against Lawler.

A lot of these greats who have been through wars with incredible chins seem to have a number on their durability. Lawler's might have been unlocked by that KO from Woodley, could be USADA too since Lawler didn't always have an iron chin (vs Nick Diaz of all people). USADA doing too much of a good job there might be some shit regarding Conor now smh. All of these guys are on something, feels like they just opt to take the risk and just fight as long as they're not caught and just move to shit leagues or bellator.

Not trying to make excuses for Conor, but I thought Conor somehow gassed after the first round and proceeded to get tagged/choked out in the second.

Lawler isn't the same man after USADA, not to mention all his wars. I mean he struggled with Cerrone.
Despite all the RDA USADA stuff, he looks as good as he ever has.
I'm thinking like 60/40 RDA, as Lawler still has the power, boxing, and size and if he lands big RDA in trouble.
Hey Im slinging mad volume and fat stackin benjies I dont got time for spellin n shit - skinny pete

No.
They are known for NOT hitting hard.
They are known for throwing a ton of low-medium power punches at their opponents and drowning them with a lot of strikes. Death by a million paper cuts.

Going to be on Glover and Perry. Should be some pretty fun fights
I'm not confident in either guy in the Perry/Ponzi fight.
Both guys have pros and cons in this fight.
Gun to the head, I pick Ponzi over Perry, as he's more well-rounded, attacks with more than just punches, and is bigger.
Both guys are there to be hit. Ponzi usually tightens up his defense as the fight goes on, but he is open for shots in R1. And both guys will stand in the pocket.
It would be smart for Ponzi to strike for a big in Round 1 to get Perry comfortable, then go for a take down and use his big BJJ + size advantage on the floor.
Also, Ponzi is known for being a dirty fighter. He has mixed eye pokes into his punch combinations in a few fights. His most recent fight against Gunnar Nelson showed Ponzi add an eye poke to his combo, which opened Nelson up to getting TKO`ed. (I had Ponzi in that fight, so I wasn't mad)
As for Glover, I like him here as well.

Good thing Glover is still good at grappling and physically strong. He looked like he had aged several years in his striking speed

Head says Ponzi does what Jouban did to Perry but with more damage done to Perry. Just a feeling Perry sucks him into a brawl after Ponz see's himself having success. And I'm going to side with Perry's stupid good chin there

Ponzinibbio started landing on Perry after he eye poked him...
What a fucking cheater. This was a known factor going into this fight.

Good Ponz performance. Perry got tired pretty early. Neither commentator talked about it. Some effort into the TD attempts and one landed that didn't do anything kinda early

Ricardo Lamas is gonna need to rethink is career.
He's already old for MMA, and he just got knocked out cold and won't ever fight for the title again.

Round 1: RDA (he was way more active and had good movement)
Round 2: RDA (he was way more active; Lawler got in his face once RDA backed off, but he never threw many punches and didn't land anything big)
Round 3: RDA (clearly)

Yeah RDA was something I was concerned about so I bet on him. I'll be forever a fan of Lawler though, those wars were something special. Thanks Lawler lol
Tyrone Woodley is a different beast come on RDA, he'd be a good massive underdog to bet small on though
