I'll give some legit advice for a noob:
1) Always have 30-50 buyins for your stakes; double that for PLO or tournaments. This will lower your tilt and tears.
2) Wait for a good hand, good position, or a good spot.
3) Play a lot.
4) Find a game and format you like and try to become an expert in it. Cash games, tournies, sngs, other forms of poker.
5) Play live poker sometimes if you can. It's softer, but you need a bigger bankroll since there are no microstakes.
6) Understand these terms: "variance", "bankroll management", "position", "hand range", "equity", "icm".
7) Lots of good old video footage online that shows solid strategies. |
