Unbelievably dope game from soul key to win that ace match. Best game of the tournament by far. Best I've seen a zerg play in a long time. Those swarms, drops, linGs, macro/micro on another level

seriously, the 2v2 games kept them alive long enough to win it all
everyone kinda ignored the 2v2 points

organ played well with him too though. Definitely could see they were a lot more prepared for the 2v2 games. Probably helps when their opponents are trying to off-race. Flash and Last blew a huge ass lead there. Last's muta micro just can't compare to a pro zerg's.

I definitely think Flash and last grossly underestimate their Terran skills
I think if they'd went TT vs PZ they'd have a much greater change of beating Soulkey/Organ, Lasts off racing sucks, his 2v2 Iq is way worse

I don't think they both had to offrace (couldve picked t/z), and otherwise having Rain play the protoss part of 2v2 should be better than last or flash. But I don't think TT is remotely viable in progamer level 2v2, not even if it's flash and last.

Agree with Eri, TT would get exposed. No map control, no way to connect armies, too many hard counters for whatever build they go for. Just surviving the early game of speedlings with cannons or ranged goons without any help for your ally is going to be a challenge.

Im just thinking if flash and last just bunkered/walled up then go bio/mech they would just rape it

You kinda need a zerg. TT would just get off the ground way too slow. Someone would get 2v1d or they'd have to turtle hard and zerg would have map control for days and take over. It would be interesting to see though I can't be sure. Maybe they could do some cool wall off to one of the zergs bringing out SCVs with the first marines. Double MM and vessels/valks would take over if they made it to the midgame

^^ ur very welcome guys, this is a poker site but most of us came from early Teamliquid days so I've always known there's still a bunch of BW guys here who dont even play but appreciate the game very much still.

I mean we all know Mutas < Flash's or Last's Bio and Vults/Gols eat stealth DTs, Lurks don't even work in 2v2 hunters. Speed and recon of lings and overlords are the only advantage early game and both Terrans have ungodly simcity tricks, much less when a bunker is involved. If any 2 people on this earth can make a viable TT strategy it would be the top 2 best players on afreeca Flash and Last. Watching lasts clunky muta control and Flash's inability to make use of his reaver/shuttle with muta support was just sad. Anything else would've been way better imo

Flash played like an idiot the end-game of the last game, for some fucking reason after losing those valkiries he built Tanks non-stop without support and naturally got destroyed.

I wanted to slap him when he failed his 4th attempt to kill the 9 base with a shitload of tanks 4 vultures and 2 goliaths against muta/lings... come on.

Like, if you pick t+t and you get 11+12 or 6+7, you can be alright, cause then you get to connect your armies. 1+3 or 3+5 are decent as well, but I think that gives you a 1/9 ratio of being good. If you have pretty much any other starting location, you won't get to fight as a combined army. So say it's TT vs PZ, it's gonna be goon+mutaling against one terran army. If it's bio, goons pick off bats, when rines stim and run in to fight goons, mutaling envelops and the bioball dies. If mech, it's either so goliath heavy that goons dominate it or so tank heavy that mutas rule. Now, two a combined TT army is awesome, but against pro players, they'll never get to pair up unless they luck out with starting locations.

Mech isnt even a real option, you have to go strong on Marines to be able to defend early vs 2

These two particular pros can defend with a good wallin or simcity no problem with T, I've seen Flash do it countless times, he doesnt die with one deathball early on, i assume Last is the same though since he's ranked higher in Afreeca than Flash. All im saying is Lasts muta micro is horrendous and Flash's shuttle did zero damage before the big skirmish in the middle. Lasts muta didn't even do enough harrass to keep the z putting up static ds

They need to build defenses big enough to withstand the rush of 2 players, then they have to be able to defend vs goon+range AND mutas... which means building tank and lots of marines turrets etc, its a nightmare and you concede all map control, if you appear to go super defensive the other players can tech up to storm, lurkers or reavers.

2 terrans is simply bad idea, they are natural terran obviously they would chose terran if it werent suicide.

defending vs goon speedling is certainly tough with a mech opening, but it's possible - you can make a bunker, accept that your wallin depot is gonna die, and hold until mines. holding zealot+ling is easy on like half the locations. And if one player mechs and is attacked by an all out goon speedling then the other terran (presumably bio) can actually move out, as he has stim and range by the time the other terran's defense starts failing.. and then the goon ling retreats and kills the m&m force instead, but then the mech player probably got his mines out. There's a lot of situational stuff on the hunters, starting locations are quite important, but say, a terran starting at 7 can hold for quite some time. But if the other terran is cross position then there won't be any help and then he will still fall.

I mean of course you're mostly right, opening mech with a terran partner usually won't be viable vs pz - but having two players go bio isn't really an option either, a pro protoss is gonna punish that so hard. mines are really awesome in 2v2 also. But all this mostly just boils down to TT just not being viable in the first place.

If that's the case then they were drawing dead anyway, I think Flash's team is like 0 wins in the 2v2 games the whole tourney off-racing the whole time. I'm just saying that they didnt try it even once, and what we did see failed every time, theoretically that puts TT at a better position already haha
