in the Starcraft latinamerican community we had an alike thing, a guy pretending to be a girl nicknamed Sakura, he also had people "falling in love" with him and shit and he apologized, it wasnt trolling same as Zia, I am curious if they turned out to be gay.

Same as frinkx actually, guy contacted me on tl.net half a year ago and asked for forgiveness. I had no problems giving him that. He's married to a woman, so presumably not gay.

no no, the guy who pretended to be zia was also a close friend of frinkx. he contacted both me and frinkx and asked for forgiveness. I dunno about frinkx, but I had no problems forgiving.

yeah tbh that was part of what fucked me. I spent a lot of time thinking about whether or not zia was a she, but he had collaborated stories going 2-3 years back in time with some other guys (who were in the know) who confirmed them. And then my brain wanted it to be true to such a degree that I placed undue weight on the stories that confirmed and not enough on what shouldve made me get that it wasn't. ;p

I think I remember the fake picture of Zia with a hole in her jeans or something. The dude was really big on cheesy power metal and people thought it elevated Zia to another level... a cute StarCraft player and metalhead, omg! The Zia/Eriador saga is one of the few things I remember from TL.net. :D Personally, my StarCraft nerd crush was on EffkA. I played with her sometimes, she was pretty good. I don't remember if she was 100% confirmed as a girl back then, but I still have her on Facebook and she's definitely legit (and still pretty hot).
