seems like a pretty tight 2 man race between Harden and Westbrook atm

It's going to be westbrook but Lebron is still the clear best player in the league

I think the contenders for DPOY would probably be something like Draymond, Kawhi, Gorbert & Marc Gasol

Being a huge Grizzlies fan, I would love to see Marc Gasol win it but I think Kawhi is probably the most deserving. With that said, I assume Draymond will end up getting the most votes from the people who decide.

For me, it's Kawhi Leonard. If you watch his game, you will notice how focus he is in playing defense. Even LBJ, he admitted that Kawhi defense is extraordinary.

Kudos to Memphis Grizzlies. Memphis Grizzlies is one of the best defenders in the league right now.

Agree!

I hope to see LBJ and company healthy in the finals. Cavs is the only team can beat GSW.

he's one of the most tilting players to watch from a standpoint of how his game involves a lot of flopping/over exaggeration when he's fouled and he has lots of moments were he gives 0 effort and defense

With that said, he's been insanely good in D'Antoni's system being the PG. They are a match made in heaven. Basically the coach's strategy is to give no fucks about playing defense, just play at an insanely fast pace offensively and fire away 3 pointers. They broke the record earlier this season for most attempted 3's in a game (60). It's actually really entertaining to watch

he's really sick at what he does no doubt.

but to build a franchise around a player like that...mehh

i'm interested in teams that actually want to win

Harden could win the MVP this season too.

1. If he finish the season healthy
2. If he consistently in his stats

hard to beat the monster that is Westbrook averaging a triple double so far this season.

That man deserves it for sure at this moment in time. fukin BEAST

Starting to like LBJ's chances. He's been playing amazing in February. He's playing a lot of minutes and with Love out his numbers are likely to go up.

I really don't want to see Westbrook or Harden win it. Westbrook would break the NBA record for turnovers in a season if it weren't for the fact that Harden is going to break it first and set the record even higher. They're also both shooting less than 45% from the field. With the exception of Allen Iverson's lone MVP there hasn't been a player to win MVP while shooting sub-45% in 50 years.

I believe Harden is the favorite to win it currently. I'd rather see him win it than Westbrook at least. Westbrook's stat-padding is just ridiculous. Watching the big men on OKC clear out for him to grab rebounds leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

While you are right that scoring effiency matters and players like Iverson the advanced numbers reflect poorly on, it's not the case at all with Westbrook. fg% is a pretty flawed statistic. Westbrook taking >6 threes a game and has a decent (*not great) efg% at 46%. He also gets to the line and is a good free throw shooter and because of this has a good true shooting percentage. 538 has Westbrook's WAR projection this year at 18.3. That is higher than Lebron's and Harden's and only surpassed by Curry. While it is not an exact science, it is pretty reasonable to say that Westbrook is the real deal MVP candidate unlike Iverson...even if he is stat padding or whatever else. Given the historical significance of his season, I don't see a way he doesn't win MVP. If I had a vote, I'd vote for Westbrook.
