I thought Brown would go even harder on the 1st, he seemed much stronger and he was doing way better on clinches, he should have made it uglier against the cage I dont know why he tried to fight with more distance, again he got hurt with a body kick, he is so vulnerable to them he dropped his right hand and ate switch kicks to the head all night |

I thought he had a better than expected performance, best of his career. He gave Cerrone everything he had, just wasnt enough. I thouight if he fought that well Cerrone would have gone down.
His liver has always been his achilles and ate like 10 headkick because of it |

Yeah, Matt Brown looked way better out there than I expected. He actually learned something from training with Ludwig.
Brown is in a weird spot. He's 1-5 in his last 6, and was finished in his last 3 fights. He has name value, the fans love him, and any organization would hire him real fast, so I'm not sure what the UFC will do with him. |

Holloway would've won anyway, but it's too bad Pettis broke his hand in Round 1. He was a sitting duck for the most part after R2. |

I agree he seemed technically better than ever, I didnt seem his usual slopiness at all, but I think he should have pushed harder in the 1st, even if he felt confident in his technical improvement it was not the best strategy against Cerrone.
Yeah his liver is weak... but I dont even know how that works, I mean there are many chinny fighters, and boxers who were known for having soft bodies but I've never seen anybody with a "liver button" like Brown |

Ended up losing -$60 on DK. Surprised I even won anything considering I went 0-5 to start the night.
Crazy results owned me again on a PPV, but that's standard. Next week's card looks cool, so I'll try to rebound on that one. |

Gastelum barely managing to do a 3 round fight vs a 37yo ( Kennedy s obviously a really solid guy, but age does matter..) and seemed like he had a Dad Bod, if guy wasnt lazy as fuck he d be in the top of his division.
Brown vs Cerrone was a pretty cool fight to watch, the KO was cool, but it was cause Brown was exhausted so he didnt pull his head/ right hand back in time. Cerrone outpaced him hard in R3
Pettis vs Holloway, well we got robbed out of this one due to the broken hand, would've been a far better fight otherwise :/ Both have a really cool style that uses momentum in a really weird way. Holloway still had round 1 though imo, but that doesnt mean too much in a 5 round fight. Pettis still hasnt been KOd which is good for him, but its gonna be a long climb back for him.
Didn't bother to watch other fights |

Dunno if thats true or not, but would be quite funny, since Cerrone is his most active fighter. He s had 4 fights a year, 4 years in a row taking in last notice fill ups whenever he s been asked to and it took 8 straight wins for them to finally give him a title shot which was just ridiculous and its probably going to take at least 1 more win in Welterweight to consider him for a title shot again and that s only if McGregor doesn't decide he wants to fight Woodley |

nah, Holloway finish was good but Cerrone head kick KO was better by far. |

To be fair Cerrones willingness to fight anyone anywhere means he is often fighting lower ranked guys and rarely beats top ranked competition. Only ranked fighters he's ever really beat are Benson ( should have lost ) Alavrez, and I think story was fringe top 10ish but not sure. So that's why he doesn't really get title shots that easy.

Cerrone has beaten several ranked fighters over the years, you just gotta remember who was doing well during which year. Since he'll fight anyone, it only seems as if he isn't fighting the best guys.
Story, Brown, Henderson, Dunham, etc. Several of the guys he beat used to be ranked at the time, but suck now.
Ranked = #1 to #15 |
