- Brad Tavares was very briefly linked to a bout with Thales Leites at the event. However, Tavares was forced out of the fight with a rib injury and replaced by Chris Camozzi.
- Justine Kish was expected to face Maryna Moroz at the event. However, Kish pulled out of the bout on July 22 due to a spiral fracture of her finger. She was replaced six days later by promotion newcomer Danielle Taylor.

We had the classic gas-fest cards in Denver and Mexico City. The more heavyweights on the card, the sloppier it will get after Round 1.
On this card, we have the following weight classes:

Taken from someone on Sherdog:
Size Disparities
Height
• Trevor Smith 4 inches taller (Trevor Smith vs Joseph Gigliotti)
• Maryna Moroz 7 inches taller (#8 Maryna Moroz vs Danielle Taylor)
• Jason Novelli 3 inches taller (David Teymur vs Jason Novelli)
• Horacio Gutierrez 3 inches taller (Teruto Ishihara vs Horacio Gutierrez)
Reach
• Rony Jason 7 inch reach advantage (#8 Dennis Bermudez vs Rony Jason)

Notes on Danielle Taylor
• Works as a correctional officer in LA County
• Took up martial arts for self defense because of her work
• 5 Amateur fights, 8 Pro
• Turned Pro in 2014
• Trains out of Saekson's Muay Thai in Van Nuys, CA - No UFC Fighters on their roster that I know of
• Previously trained out of SoCal Fight Factory in Palmdale, CA
• Started with a grappling base training in Wrestling, Judo, and Jiu Jitsu at SoCal Fight Factory
• All pro fights have been under the KOTC banner
• Coaches wanted her to drop down to 105 at one point
• Tried out for TUF 20
Additional Fight Notes on Danielle Taylor
*Some small things I saw in the little amount of footage I could find
• Defensively porous, very hittable at range
• Decent wrestling, lot of head arm throws and double legs
• Most takedowns hit from the clinch it seems
• Has been one punched knocked out cold before
• Strong aggressive blitzes, good finishing instincts, swarms with hooks like a mini Wanderlei when opponent is hurt
• Punch centric striking
• Combination striking
• Good cardio
"I was a little perplexed to see Moroz sitting at only a -240 favorite against what seemed to be a very raw green fighter on less than two weeks notice but Taylor definitely packs enough heat and an aggressive style to match to keep things interesting. Was thinking of using Moroz in some parlays but now I'm iffy. Have to go rewatch tape on Moroz but I remember her getting dropped a few times by Valerie so we know she can be cracked. Think she is able to use her range and technical striking to win more times than not though. Taylor doesn't seem to use many kicks so I think she spends the majority of the fight getting tagged at distance. My biggest question mark would be how Moroz responds to the forward pressure Taylor may bring."

Cummins vs Ponz is a very interesting fight.
I personally think Ponz will take it, he's a more complete striker, much faster, and has exceptional TDD - but Cummins is just a gamer that hits really hard, is insanely durable, and if he can get it to the ground early the fight changes big time.

Moroz is so incredibly unimpressive. Some of her jabs were on the cusp of being open handed. And that was in the first round where fatigue can't effect technique. All that big talk from her last year or so. Just woulda had her catching a face changing whipping from Joanna. Or Karolina. Or even Rose
Need either Camozzi or Rony to come up with the upset to have a pretty good sweat on Yair from two DK lineups. Hoping for that Bermudez chin to have been half cracked by now

Taylor was a bad match-up for Moroz. Moroz is only good at distance, and she wasn't able to fully open up against a midget who could only throw bombs.
Surprised 1 judge scored it 29-28 for Taylor, considering she only landed 1 good punch.

Very good performance from Ponzinibbio. Cummings just ridiculously hard to finish

Too bad Zak Cummings took his foot off the gas in Round 3. He was my most confident pick on the card.
Both guys ended up fighting different than they usually do, so that sucked as well.

Poor Camozzi just so unathletic. He did manage to get me over a point per round though. Just barely

Too bad Rony Jason decided to not try and get back to his feet in R1, cuz he was tired in R2 and Bermudez still wasn't dominating him like he should have. Jason was tired in R3 but was looking better than Bermudez, imo.
Bermudez wins, but his stock went down in my book. He's still willing to put himself at risk when he already has the fight won. It'll cost him again, again, and again in the future like it has in the past.

Round 1 was all Yair but, he didn't land anything hard and Caceres was just sitting back and defending + countering. Caceres is going to open up with his boxing toward the end of R2 or early R3.
Round 2: Yair, but Caceres is just blocking most of the stuff and started to open up with his boxing.
Round 3: Caceres. He opened up with his boxing and landed a lot, even finished on top for the last minute with GnP. Yair is way slower now.
R4 & R5: Yair. Caceres gassed after R3 ended and didn't have much in the tank to keep up his boxing attacks. He let Yair keep the distance with side kicks to the leg, which essentially put a nail in Caceres' coffin.
Yair 4-1
----------
Yair almost got robbed in his split-decision win. All-3 judges had weird scores, and 1 even gave it to Caceres.
It was a clear 4-1. It looked like a clear 4-1 during the fight, and the striking stats they just showed even agree it was 4-1.

Caceres 49-46 judge probably needs to not judge again
Fight itself wasn't really all that. Caceres didn't get active enough and looked like Yair listened to his hype a bit too much
