This looks like a really bad matchup for Lawler, he is going to stand there getting kicked in the forearms trying to get in range

I agree, i don't really see a path to victory for lawler.

He might be able to endure damage longer than Hendricks, but that wont do anything.
His standup is maybe a little better, but that won't do anything either.

That was some of the best striking I ever seen. Really reminiscent of Anderson vs Leben/Franklin. I'm scared for Lawler.

If for some reason the line shows Lawler as favourite its a snap big bet

Absolutely stunning performance by Wonderboy. He made Johny Hendricks look like a complete bum in there. The guy has improved leaps and bounds since his first fights in the ufc, really was great to watch that destruction.

I think Lawler will fare a lot better than Hendricks, since he has better movement and more means to get inside boxing range. Anyways Thompson should be favorite. Robbie has been in way to many wars lately and his chin has taken a lot of damage. Wonderboy probably will find him at some point and put him out.

Mickey Gall is going to demolish CM Punk.

He didn't even look super bad or anything, Thompson just looked amazing. Possible though. This is the 2nd fighter ( Weidman ) post USADA who dropped a lot of weight and came out and got whooped.

How can you say he didn't look bad and bring up the Weidman comparison? He looked incredibly flat and tiny in there... I think he looked awful.

Part of might just be Thompson being big, but Hendricks still looked very flat :/

He looked a lot smaller than before, but many people were saying he looks in the best shape of his life after the weigh in. Weidman is a good comparison since He also came in shredded and smaller than before and got manhandled.

Hendricks really looked lost in there after not being able to take Wonderboy down in his first try. Couldn't figure out the range, got frustrated and rushed in right into Thompson's punches.

Weight wise, Hendricks looked good. His body was more solid and he had less body fat.

He has a weird build. He's the same height as Benson Henderson at 5'9, but it's impossible for Hendricks to move to 155, and he's way too small for 185, which is why he avoided 185 even after Dana White said he'd have to fight there after the last time he missed weight.

Also, more modern welterweights are 5'11 to 6'0 on average. Hendricks is 5'9 with a 69 in reach, and Wonderboy is 6'0 with a 75 inch reach.

Hope they match him with Maia so I can shove all-in on Maia when line opens at like +400.

I'm impressed by Wonderboy. Hendricks must've lost a fair bit of muscle. Hendricks is easy to overrate i guess. Thompson is Condit with harder everything. Card was shit up to that point but main event delivered. Bunch of bums walking in circles... not much for a casual spectator.

I agree Maia +400 is good, but r u sure he will win?

If Maia gets you down, he is super dangerous, but he has to get you down.
I don't think Maia's wrestling is better than Hendricks.

He got hurt almost immediately after his first failed takedown, and continued eating big shots till the end. He didn't get much of a chance to show anything, Wonderboy was busy teeing off on his face.

It's definitely possible he missed that TD though because he lost a lot of size and strength.

I do think it's wise to be weary of anyone losing significant size in these USADA days is all.

you don't need to be "sure he will win" to place a bet at +400

LOL, Wonderboy is going to kick Maia face off. Don't see how Maia can close the distance with his slow movement and terrible stand up, so he can get close to grapple with him .

Did you watch the post-fight press conference? Hendricks said he felt good and strong, and that he had a good camp for this fight, and that he felt the best he has. He also said he never felt stronger.

He went on to say that Wonderboy was the better fighter that day, then he said "Wonderboy is the better fighter" toward the end of the conference. He said that he didn't train for Wonderboy's specific in-and-out style, and that he expected him to stand and trade more instead of moving, aka he expected Wonderboy to stand and bang.

There's no excuses anyone can make in this fight as to why Hendricks lost, he simply got beat by a better fighter, which Hendricks himself agrees with.

Dunno, whos to say a 200 pound Johnny Hendricks wouldn't of gotten that takedown against the fence? I'm not saying for sure Hendricks was coming off roids, just that in the future I'm going to be suspicious of people losing a lot of mass these days. It was a good read by Cosmo, losing like 20+ pounds in 4 months and still fighting at the same weight class was weird. Sure alot of that was fat, but some of it was muscle too. It's not possible to lose that much weight in that short of a time frame without losing muscle.

For anyone intersted DJ is -220 against Henry Cejudo at betsson/betsafe. I find that line absolutely insane and I will be hammering it hard.

Also Machida vs Henderson at -250 and Maia vs Brown at -260. Great value there.

we're going to see a bunch of fighters "go soft" with the banning of IVs. I've read somewhere weight cutting is going to be banned soon which is very interesting.

I'm still guessing RDA is next, still not convinced of the incredible career leap that guy has had. Not to mention how he suddenly looked like the hulk, the new, stricter tests will be implemented March. I expect him to show up for mcgoat softer

RDA is the real deal. I was reading the same comments prior to his Cerrone fight and he looked great and steamrolled him.

Conor is still going to murk him, though. Really hope late money come on RDA, because I am not happy with the current odds.
