For the first time in a year, I can honestly say my knee feels good. Not just "good enough, I can still fight if I just work around it" but good and strong. I know I'm starting to get up there in age, having recently turned 28, my back is against the wall and it's now or never. As such there is no "if's this doesn't work I'll..." plans. Burn the fleet! To victory or underground. I've got an amazing group of coaches and teammates around me, now it's time to show the fight world how I do it. First step towards conquering this world begins Jan 30th at Winriver Casino in Redding, Ca. If you're in the Northern California area you owe it to yourself to come and bare witness to my art.

Roughly 2 hours of pure jiujitsu, 1 hour of pure Muay Thai, 1 hour MMA, 1 hour strength and conditioning with my team then an hour or so of cardio and bag work at home Mon-Fri. Weekends about 2hours of solid rolling/sparring. Much less than the 8-12hours a day I used to do, but the idea is to train smarter not harder and to give my body time to heal between sessions even if it kills me not to be training all day everyday. |

Still needs a lot of work to be honest. I work overnights so I find it real hard to eat more than once a day (generally bbq chicken and veggies) aside from a little snacking on fruits and veggies during my shifts and a post workout protein shake. Luckily I'm HW so I don't have to worry about making a big cut or anything. I want to come in around 235, from experience I find this to be the best balance of gained speed while retaining power for me. |
