imo, best bets of the card are Horiguchi, Roop, and Zapata

Thanks for making this floofy, just font feel right when there's no thread

Thanks Floofy, just an FYI, I would have made the thread but it would have looked like this but even worse, because I have no clue what I'm doing.

But, picks:

Barnett > Nelson - I think the odds have gotten too wide for a couple old heavyweights in a situation where its a guessing game as to who's declining more rapidly
Mousasi v Hall - Pickem - Odds are absolutely out of control on this one
Horiguchi > Camus - I see no path to victory for Camus whatsoever despite being a good fighter
Roop > Mizugaki - Roops chin thing is kind of BS, he's only been KO'd by some really heavy hitters and I've seen him eat some clean shots
Brandao > Kikuno
Li > Nakamura
Hein > Kasuya - Closer fight than ppl think
Johnson > Kotani
Zapata > Anzai

Bets:

My picks:

• Barnett > Nelson (submission)
• Mousasi > Hall (decision)
• Horiguchi > Camus (decision)
• Mizugaki > Roop (TKO, if Mizu works the body)
• Brandao > Kikuno (I see outs for both guys, definitely not worth betting -230 for Brandao)
• Hirota > Ishihara (both guys' main method to victory is by KO/TKO, but Hirota knows what it's like to fight to a decision, and has been in the UFC before. Also, Hirota was noticeably thicker than Ishihara at the weigh-in, so he'll rehydrate to a larger size while Ishihara won't be too much bigger than what we saw him weigh-in at. Ishihara is only half an inch shorter or so, he's coming up from 135 to fight at 145 (might have the speed advantage), and is 10 years younger than Hirota. Ishihara trains at Team Alpha Male Japan with Michinori Tanaka, the top prospect in the UFC with blond hair. Cody Garbrandt is in Japan right now with Cub Swanson doing promo, but I'm not sure if Cody is training with Ishihara.)
• Li > Nakamura (decision)
• Hein > Kasuya (decision)
• Johnson > Kotani (submission, round 2)
• Anzai > Zapata (TKO)

----------

They're using the big cage for this event.

Mousassi looked as fit and motivated as I've ever seen him. Not sure what that really means though since he was sometimes a beast with his expression never changing from like a guy doing laundry or something.

Crazy odds for Mousassi - Hall, even though I believe Mousassi should win most of the time.

Me and sober thinks Hall is a good bet here. Hall is being under rated, and Mousasi is over rated

You pick Barnett and bet on Nelson?

Haha. But only because everyone's so used to PR's clean ones.

I'd have liked to think Uriah's insane athleticism will give Gegard a lot of problems. But in terms of just fighting skill, doesn't seem close to me. And just two fights ago, Rafael freaking Natal made it seem like Uriah had no real fight IQ.

Hall is black and athletic, that's about it. His record speaks for itself.

If Hall can't do any significant damage in round 1, he'll do what he usually does and let the fight slip away by standing in front of his opponent and not doing anything. Moreover, due to his low striking output and weak boxing skills, he won't be able to out-point Mousasi to win a decision.

If I were going to put any money on Hall in this spot, which I'd never do, I'd bet on Hall ITD +833 or better. It is an MMA fight so anything can happen, but I think it's crazy to think Hall will beat Mousasi today. The only reason why I think Mousasi will win a decision is because I expect Hall to keep moving backwards and circling out of Mousasi's aggressive style. If Mousasi gets Hall down, I expect a submission from Mousasi, maybe a keylock or punches/elbows into a TKO.

Yah Hall's fight IQ is garbage, it seems like he never comes in with a real strategy. It was a mistake betting him as a big favorite for that reason (cost me a bunch of money).

With that in mind, if this fight were just skill-set vs skill-set, I would favor Hall only because I think he stuffs Mooses TD's and is more dangerous on the feet.

Only a couple people who's opinion I respect seem to think there is any reasonable chance Hall wins, as opposed to almost everyone else in the Mousasi camp. Really just going with my own convictions on this one, so I can't feel great about it.

I just think hes way too talented and capable of winning to be marked as not live, considering in theory he's entering his professional prime - despite the age similarity, I'd like to think Hall's learning curve would be a lot steeper in his favor.

We'll see what happens, but I'd be pretty surprised if Mousasi just runs through him easily.

I think Mousasi is the rightful favorite due to his consistency and all-around craftiness - but if a guy is most likely gonna need to rely on said consistency and craftiness to win, I don't see how he is any type of value at -650. Gotta be a dog or pass unless I'm just totally off on how good each guy is - which is not only possible but probable given the odds.

lmao... Can't believe Anzai managed to get a TKO in the 3rd round, even though it was a fluke TKO. He was on his way to winning a clear-cut decision, though.

Kajan Johnson could've finished a couple different times, but he didn't push the pace. Sad, but oh well...

Bam, ship it Kajan.

And honestly, that was a very nice performance vs a shitty guy with great heart.

Now it's time for Kasuya to shock the world and take Hein's back multiple times I hope.
