Windows 10

I need to disable Cortana (big brother who is always spying, always watching), but aside from that....

Everything in Windows 10 is super slow. If you have Windows 7, don't upgrade. I wish I didn't. In Windows 7, if I opened a Google Chrome browser and typed liquidpoker.net, I would be here in a matter of moments. Like three seconds or so. It takes about five seconds for chrome to even open.

I have 6 GB ram, a quad core AMD processor, and I really do not run many programs. No viruses that I saw. This is not the newest or most bad ass laptop obviously, but it did work well on Windows 7 and everything was pretty smooth and fast.

Windows 10 does not even look pretty. It is like mashing together 7 and 8 and they had some retarded love child that couldn't function.

Anyone else do Windows 10? Does anyone like it?

Oh, and Solitaire is a paid game now. You cannot play it for free. (That's right...the always included free game on every version is now a pay to play)

only start menu takes like 1s to show up after clicking on my main pc (multiple screens + 4k), dunno why

Know a tech guy, asked him a few days ago, he said he preferred it by a lot, and he's got my old computer at his home. Weird, maybe it's something on your end?

I gave him my old 30 inch, and it worked great with a 6 year old pc with windows 10, lots of pages up

haven't tried it yet but i'm hesitant to do so after win 8 and because it's pretty new

i had problems with it too. 15-30 fps on all games... everything slow load times etc........ went back to 8 and now im back to 150 fps on dota and 60-100 on other games and virtually no load times

I've upgraded from Windows 8, no problems. Intel Core i5-4590 CPU@3.30 GHz and 8GB RAM.

edit: oh and running it on an SSD of course.

I've been happy with Windows 10. No problems with it.

well i got the latest shit, r9 390 when it was weeks old and i7 4790k, using ssd too... might be my mobo or something idk. Btw u can go back to ur old setting afaik... thats what my friend did for me, going back to 8 fixed everything

i didn't even have a cracked version of MS Office, but it won't work now because it says my serial expired. I had bought it via download and I don't have the keys anymore.

I do not really do anything too intense on my laptop, no gaming. But loading chrome.....it is seriously the most tilting thing about windows 10

ye definitely not installing win10 after i read that it blocks hijacked software.
eventhough almost all my software is legal i still dont like the idea that they can just block something like that

I had a huge video problem right after the upgrade and still have a smaller problem now (blurry text). Update your video drivers before you upgrade, 10 has all kinds of trouble detecting monitors/drivers properly especially if you have a multiple monitor display.

I updated cause I had to reinstall Windows and I don't want to do it again in a few months. I do have some random hangups though, I suspect it has something to do with the idle mode of my old hdd's.

to the tech guys: i just upgraded to win10, do i have to manually search and install drivers for all my cards (motherboard, gc etc) or windows10 do that automatically?

Did you guys all just do a straight upgrade from win7?

I did a fresh upgrade (have the installer remove all my previous settings and files on my win7), and I have not experienced any of the things that you guys experienced about being slow. It is actually faster than my win7 (haven't cleaned up my win7 for a while tho, so that might be why my win7 was slower)

I love the new start menu compared to win8 (haven't used win8.1 tho). Cortana is alright. I also have Amazon Echo, Siri and OK Google, so comparing the four I still enjoy OK Google the most (has the most features). Amazon Echo is fun to program on, built a full voice-controlled party drinking game (similar to this one).

You shouldn't need to grab drivers.
