1/2/5 homegame, avg stack $1500. Supposedly drunk guy shows up, never played with him but regs at table seem excited he's here. Been at the table for about 1 hour and turned $500 into $2000 by playing like a maniac. One hand he opened $50 UTG with 34o, check called $150 on Q54r flop, c/c Q544 turn, open jammed blank river and got paid off by KQo.

Hand1:

3 players limp (including a deep mega station sitting on ~$2700)
Villain CO ($1500) raises to $150
Hero SB ($1000) AKo ???

Am I 3betting here and knocking other fish out of the pot, or is letting dominated hands try to see the flop a good line as I expect the other fish will actually call the $150 too.

Hand2:

Everyone folds to villain
Villain BTN ($2000) raises to $100
Tilted SB ($800) calls $100
Hero BB ($600) AQo ???

I think this is a pretty obvious 3bet, but should I make it like $300 or just ship it now?

shit i thought my games were good, you got a drunk making 20xbb open raises. Live is nice. Even if they fold and you just win 350 here that is not bad.

Actually I may prefer a 3bet to whatever size leaves 1 PSB on the flop and then just jam any flop. This will be better if he is the type to call whatever trash he opened and then actually fold some flops (doesn't have to be many). Both are +ev this might be higher tho. Shoving less of a headache. I wouldn't wan't to call in hand 1; you would need to hit to win the pot, the fish is unlikely to tool out 4-5 ways, you get cracked a lot, can be hard to realize your eq.

K, wasnt sure how obvious I turn my hand face up but then again I guess I should just assume it doesnt matter if he's playing like that. In such a circumstance does it make sense to treat the game like 10/20 or 25/50? So basically I'm playing shorstacked in an NL5k game and should just jam over his preflop open with a value range like 77+ and broadways or something.

You can't really treat the whole game that way since it is just him being nuts; like you can't open like he does when he is still left to act obviously lol. I think you need to just take each hand as it comes because in my experience guys like this will turn it on for 5 straight hands, maybe take a couple off, then get right back to it.

As far as jamming over his opens; it really depends what his calling range is (and pfr) Is he raise/calling any2 or just making huge opens and then trying to play somewhat decent poker (whatever that means for him) afterwards. Without knowing any of that I would go with a range around there but probably tighter and it would depend on how many people were left to act after me.

the main thing you wanna do here is not fall out of your chair in excitement from picking up the nuts vs the whale before shoveling in your chips.

hand 1 make it 450 to go. if station flats we only c betting good boards like JTx QTx 245 etc. if station folds and fish flats we shove any flop.

hand 2 we shove.

hand 1 because of station this is an easy allin I think

hand 2 allin it's 1/3 ur stack size...

these are insanely huge preflop bets relative to blinds and you are out of position. just win the pots with what is surely the best hand, or hell maybe u will get it in vs a worse hand.
go allin, punish them for their over-raises

Grindin so hard, Im smashin pussies left and right.Last edit: 31/05/2015 07:16
