Although once you take out a few forums in the middle the General Forum will also be above the fold so it wouldn't be that big of a deal.

Good idea to merge the hand discussion from low mid high to one thing.

Could you possibly extend the HH bar on the right to extend down a few more hands; just like 2~4 so good hands don't get knocked off as quickly?

nice, it's very convenient to put General near the top of the sidebar. like Floofy said it's the most popular

but I don't know about shortening HH. what about, Streams seems like a pretty small tab so that could go above HH and just have HH be as long as it used to be maybe?

It seems to be not very profitable in the long run to play those kind of hands. - Gus Hansen

Since you only asked about moving the General Forum up on the left-sidebar, I voted to keep it where it is. If you're going to merge the hand discussion forums, it won't really matter where the General Forum is located on the left side, imo.

As for me, I use the Tab feature on Firefox to access LP and the other 14 websites I visit the most. My LP tab leads me directly to LP's General Forum, so I don't ever notice the poker forums. I have the same setup on my mobile phone, too.

We just lowered it from 10 last hands to 5 hands today so the "Poker Stream" section is visibile without scrolling down. We will see how it works and adjust to what people think

Suggestions:

1. Merge low/medium (<200 NL)
2. High Stakes now are now >400 NL (people play lower than they did 5 years ago)
3. Move "Search" to the top right (making more room for "hands" )
4. Move "Calculator" to its own section (no one uses this anyway cause everyone has a poker calculator on their desktop. also makes more room for "hands" )
5. Have 2-3 "highlighted hands" in your "hands" section that is determined by number of replies/views, you could give this a visual representation somehow too, highlighting, color change, font change etc etc.

I think this is bad. Leave it at 10 at least. This is the most popular and active part of the site these days and at 5 hands will fall off too fast and just kill it. I understand wanting to make the streaming popular so maybe put it on the left between blogs and poker news? Or even put the streams above the poker hand histories and then you can bring it back to 10-12

I don't care one bit about poker streams, why would that be more useful than viewing more poker hands? Such a key part of the site. It would be cool if there was an option in profile to change the height of the hand history but most probably want it larger, not smaller.

Imo, it should read:

-News (fix the title?, it's never red)
-Blogs
-Main poker / General (depending on poll, other following below)
- Hand discussions (merged)
- Tournament / Rail heaven (merged)
- Poker streams

and remove LP avatars or put them up top between "rakeback" and "my blog".

I'd also remove poker bonuses from the top right and place that maybe below poker streams or below the search / rakeback on the right.

Also, LP black theme? sex it up to be more like TL.net maybe? 1 time holddddddd

Things that keep the forum alive:
Hands posting section @ right
General Forum
a few blogs which are usually by Daut,Joe,PR

At this point I doubt anyone would notice if you guys get rid of Rail Heaven up to Other Poker Games incl. In order for those to work there would need to be serious people, and considering how 99% of people that posted good content either stopped playing, stopped entering the site or just cba anymore, I don't see that happening

I think people post more on hands posted on the right side and blog posts, so I think you should focus the site on these 2 parts
maybe increase the number of hands we can visualize, and add something like hot hands that is visible, I know that theres that "notable poker hands" but its hidden and only 2 hands that are not there based on posts/visualizations, put the hot hands over the posted hands, people will click there more often, theres hundreds of interesting hands that people post here but most people miss because someone comes and posts 20 losing flips in a row and the other hands are not there anymore

Dont listen to anything I say

Garfed   Malta. Apr 07 2015 19:51. Posts 4818

Increased the number of hands visible back to 10, as per your comments.

We will be probably moving the stream section above the hands since it's quite short, what you guys think?

ggplz   Sweden. Apr 09 2015 22:18. Posts 16784

Cool revert. Not sure why you want the stream section above the HH section. In my eyes, the HH section is the most important and most used thing on the right of LPs page, followed by search. Moving it lower by putting the streams above doesn't make sense imo.

Streams are fine where they are; do you guy make extra from those clicks or something?

Thank you for reverting the HH section on the right

+1 to not merging entire poker discussion into 1. although the volume is low I don't want ppl that play $.01/.02 commenting in a $5/$10 hand. Just makes no sense and will def lower the quality of discussion (however how it could be at this point anyways)
