can use kickass.to and just look at comments, the best shit floats to the top, i see yifi every day at top there

It skyrocketed in popularity when the bay went down, i kinda stuck to it, just more fun and easy to find shit, and it circulates new stuff much faster at the top, so yay.

+ comment section much more active, easy to spot if something's fishy

I really enjoyed episode 3. Felt like a whole different show imo Will watch ep 4 soon.

agree, actually i've liked all the episodes a lot so far. i kind of shared naz's opinion about the way mike/tuco were introduced, but i don't know if there's a better way to do it, i think not giving the proverbial nod to BB would be just as awkward in its own way all things considered, and getting to see the development of both characters (esp mike) is well worth it. like for a split second it felt like a formulaic lazy way of capitalizing on BB's success, except that the writing and acting are great and there's actually nothing lazy about it. also think chuck is going to turn out to be an awesome character.

only problem i have is nacho seems too effeminate for a drug-dealing gangster

I think the problem with running into Mike and Tuco as we did is that straight away in the introductory episodes the plot is beginning to revolve around them when there's not enough of a good reason for it. The very appearance of those characters so early is capitalizing on BB's success and I'd say there are plenty of reasons against it that early. Focusing on Saul and his development is crucial (it's his show) and for non BB viewers especially so. The not-so-subtle appearance of Mike was far too loud, never mind Tuco there as well. I believe there are other great ways to slow down Saul's character development without having old BB characters early. There were some serious pacing issues throughout ep 1&2 as well which further lead to a weaker start. BB fans will probably allow them to pull this off but it's still badly done. The show would be much stronger if it started off more independent of BB, got it's legs and established Saul a little bit then worked those characters in. The good news is that in ep 3 Saul made very significant character developments towards being Saul – he is more forceful when it matters, is tired of being pushed around and overall feels smarter. He has his flaws but that just makes him more human, lovable and interesting to watch. I think the phone call scenes early in ep 3 were brilliant. Also the tent scene with the bursting bag was similar to the style/flair through which Tarantino marks his movies imo.

Just had a quick look on imdb and ep 1 & 2 were written by Vince Gilligan & Peter Gould whereas ep 3 was written by Thomas Schnauz only. edit: 4th episode was great, written by Gennifer Hutchison.

first episode a bit slow and kinda painful, so really, it could only go up from there. I feel like its going to be slow moving and take its time developing the characters and plots, so I'll give the 2nd and maybe 3rd episodes a watch.

Watching every episode so far just makes me wish they decided to make a show about the rise of Gus instead

Need more badass/dark stuff. Oh well, I'm still expecting this to eventually be good

Just think of how sniveling and semi-pathetic Saul is in Breaking Bad...He will never be a badass character you just have to accept that. He's going to be a cunning helper-outer-type guy just like he was in BB...and that's his ceiling. He can't really get more badass than that or it wouldn't make sense.

Uh, why? The show is set around the time in which Saul and Mike meet.

And this show needs mike. Up until last episode it was getting kinda boring tbh. Watching Saul run around failing as a lawyer and his stupid brother was getting pretty meh. This show def needs Mike being a badass ASAP, and hopefully develop Jimmy into Saul asap.

Yeah the last episode was really captivating. Mike was always a great character in BB and now they've upped his character so much by just having one complete episode about his back story. Great stuff.

Mike was by far my favorite BB character, so obviously I thought the last episode was awesome. I'm a little worried the show will go back to being somewhat boring again, as you said, with Saul and his brother running around with not a lot of action. I will give the writers the benefit of the doubt though, BB's first 5 episodes were a little slow and then we all know how good it was the next 50 episodes. They def need to keep developing Mike's character more and need Saul to get into more shady/illegal stuff soon.

I know they are building up and that season 1 of Breaking Bad was WAYYY different than say, season 5... (meaning I understand that the show will change pace eventually)... but this new episode was so............ meh! Very little going on.

Still though, excited to see where it goes.

yeah episode was kinda meh. it started good when mike was talking to that cop at the beginning, but after that it just felt random/all over the place. i have faith it's building to something more cohesive and interesting though.

i also feel like i'm the only person alive who thought BB early-mid seasons were just as good or better than the late seasons.

I enjoyed BB from the first episode to the end. The early part of the first season was awesome.

Really enjoyed the last 2 episodes of better call saul.
