Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us and as we let our own lights shine we unconsciously give other people permision to do the same | |

Depends.
I usually wear a beard at like 5 day growth or so and keep it in shape. That is ideal for me as far as aesthetics and care imo. Sometimes it feels like I want a fresh 5-10 day growth or I just feel like a fresh shave so I trim it close with trimmer and go mach 3. If I shaved everyday I would definitely go the doubled edged safety razor, badger hair shaving brush, et al. but do not see that happening so I keep it simple. The fact that I have a five head and receding hair line pretty much gives me free reign to rock a beard unless there was some seriously strict dress codes or I have to go somewhere there is potential to need a gas mask to fit safely. |

i received a safety razor + set (badger brush and soap) and ever since i've come to enjoy shaving more. although i also put more time into the shaving process (i boil water in a pot and dump it into the sink, and then use the hot water to get some nice hot foam lather etc which all seems to culminate in a less harsh experience on my fizzace, that's what she said.) |

I just shaved my beard off actually. I grew it out for about 8 days and the hairs were 8mm long so that's a pretty fast growth rate I think, 3cm/month. Sidenote: just googled a bit and apparently that's over 2x the avg rate. I often have a beard but it depends on how I feel. Because my hair grows quite fast I'm kinda indifferent between clean shaven and trimming but I rarely opt for trimming. If I want that clean shaven look I def need to shave every day. Right now I'm going through a super short hair phase and have a 2-3 on my head and fresh baby face. |

Safety razors are great, they out perform disposables in every aspect. I find it relaxing to take my time shaving while in the bath
I'm shaving 1 time / month now, because it's winter and idgaf, I'm in my apartment all day. |

I'm not able to grow a beard, so that makes things easy. I shave my mustache and sides once a week. |

I got myself a vintage old straight razor and i must say it shaves like a dream. The process of shaving has become a pleasant experience. Using a straight razor is time consuming at first but well worth the trouble and not super difficult to learn at all. If anyone feels inspired to give it a go there are plenty vintage and new blades to choose from. A good blade and strop are available for under 200$. Definitely recommend trying it. We don't have any barbers who use cut throat razors where i live but getting a pampering shave at some barbers will be an equally awesome experience.
Never shaved with a DE before, can anyone compare it with a disposable? |
