I think the worst part isnt simply how misguided this has been, since I can understand the avg white haired senator seeing nothing wrong with this, but the fact that this information doesnt appear to have been used for anything. The whole idea is to prevent terrorism right? So, has anything been prevented as a result of this? In the last 5 years I think I can recall a handful of "terrorist plot foiled" cases, but hardly any information was ever supplied to even legitimize the claims.
bye now

I'm not surprised cause it seemed like a rational thing to do for those in power, but damn... I guess living ignorance is much more peaceful then knowing the terrible truths out there
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us and as we let our own lights shine we unconsciously give other people permision to do the same

Reuters news agency quoted hotel staff as saying that he had left at noon.
Ewen MacAskill, a Guardian journalist, told the BBC he believed Mr Snowden was still in Hong Kong.

Couple of major things that always start conflicts, difference of skin color, language, religion
In Canada, Quebec almost separated 15 years ago. There was a inter-province vote and it barley passed (was ~ 50.5/49.5) all due to the fact that they speak french. - pretty crazy shit considering it would also cause the country to be split apart geographically Quebec Referendum
