It was initially announced that the bout would be rescheduled for a future event, later in the summer of this year. Then, on March 9 it was announced that Dos Santos would remain on the card and face Mark Hunt.
- Ryan Bader was expected to face Glover Teixeira at the event but withdrew from the bout due to injury in March. He was replaced by James Te Huna.
- Amir Sadollah was expected to face Stephen Thompson at the event. However, Sadollah pulled out of the bout citing an injury and was replaced by Nah-Shon Burrell.
- Gunnar Nelson was expected to face Mike Pyle at the event. However, Nelson pulled out of the bout citing an injury and was replaced by Rick Story.
- Dana White announced at the UFC on Fox 7 post-fight press conference that he expects that the winner of the Gray Maynard/TJ Grant fight would get a UFC Lightweight title shot against Benson Henderson.
- On what was reportedly the final day for Mark Hunt to get his visa and make his way to the United States, "The Super Samoan" has come through just six days before the event and will be able to compete in the biggest fight of his career against dos Santos.

• Velasquez > Silva (Interested to see how Silva can get back to his feet without blood in both eyes.)
• Hunt > Dos Santos (Dos Santos will look to test Hunt's take down defense, if he's smart. Also, Hunt is at a bigger disadvantage due to him only getting his work Visa 6 days prior to the event, which means he wasn't able to come to the states until now. His body may or may not acclimate well to the travel.)
• Teixeira > Te-Huna (Should be a good fight, one I'll save for live betting.)
• Grant > Maynard (I'm going heavy on Grant.)
• Noons > Cerrone (Cerrone has been all over the place in terms of where his head is at. Cerrone is the better overall fighter, but I can see Noons winning this if Cerrone only stands with him.)
• Story > Pyle
• Bermudez > Holloway
• Whittaker > Smith (Not 100% on this yet, due to Smith only strategy of holding you down, which he's good at.)
• Trujillo > Nurmagomedov (Nurmagomedov is the favorite for a reason, however, Trujillo looked beastly in his UFC debut, although it was vs. a lesser fighter.)
• Thompson > Burrell (Not 100% on this yet. Burrell will look to get Thompson down, but Thompson is the better fighter and proved he can take a beating. Burrell got owned vs. a lesser striker in Chris Spang.)
• Bowles > Roop (Bowles has been out for a long time after getting owned by Faber. Bowles is the safe bet here.)
• Stephens > Payan (Taking Stephens cuz he'll get the decision if it's close, however, I don't know much about Payan, so I'm betting small on this one. I might take Payan if he's a big dog.)

Bet the house on Cain > Silva. I've never seen anyone draw so dead in a title fight...

When has JDS ever pitter pattered anyone in the UFC?

There's a possibility for this fight going to a decision, however, most are expecting it to end ITD by KO/TKO. I'll bet the decision prop line if it's +800 or better.

I can see the fight going the way JDS vs Nelson went, or we can see JDS' ground game this time around considering Hunt is not the strongest grappler out there.

yea silva isnt stone dead in the sense that i wouldnt bet cain at -1000 (think -700 is my limit here) like i would in gsp vs shields, gsp vs diaz, gsp vs fitch, silva vs bonnar, jones vs sonnen, etc, but if cain loses he either got injured or fucked up really really really bad somehow cause bigfoot is way too slow to create an opportunity to win himself

Bigfoot is a live dog. The guy has proven that he can beat anyone. He doesn't get any credit for beating Overeem but he fought a good fight and pounced when he got his opportunity. If he can sweep or end up on top in a scramble, Cain could be in a lot of trouble. Bigfoot has a big size, strength, and BJJ advantage like he did against Fedor.

I'm really liking Hunt in taking this fight from JDS, I think JDS comes out on fire and Hunt weathers the storm before landing some big shots late in the second or third for a TKO.

We have now sunk to a depth at which restatement of the obvious is the first duty of intelligent men.

Travis Browne hurt himself in the fight vs Bigfoot, so can't take much from that. And Overeem is the most overrated fighter in MMA, and even thou he finished him impressively, you forget that he was getting his ass kicked for two rounds before. We've already seen the results of this fight twice before: Watch Bigfoot vs Cain 1 and Bigfoot vs Cormier (Cormier and Cain have very similar skills). Both were one sided beat downs. He is just too fucking big and too fucking slow, it's just a terrible match-up for him.

And I disagree with Daut here, Cain is easily -1000 or more. Unlike, GSP vs Shields, GSP vs Diaz, GSP vs Fitch, Silva vs Bonnar, or even Jones vs Sonnen fight, WE HAVE SEEN WHAT WILL HAPPEN ALREADY. AND WE'VE SEEN IT TWICE. Bigfoot has nothing to offer Cain here. It's really a retarded match-up. Don't believe the hype. Bigfoot is drawing dead.

bigfoot beating overeem was def one of the best feelings ever. I felt so happy for the guy. I was swinging as well pretending I was him while he connected on each of those punches before the KO
