These are my gun-to-the-head UFC 159 picks, prior to doing any research. I'm sticking with most of these picks though.
• Jon Jones > Chael Sonnen
• Michael Bisping > Alan Belcher
• Roy Nelson > Cheick Kongo
• Phil Davis > Vinny Magalhaes
• Jim Miller > Pat Healy
• Erik Perez > Johnny Bedford
• Ovince St. Preux > Gian Villante
• Sara McMann > Sheila Gaff
• Rustam Khabilov > Yancy Medeiros
• Leonard Garcia > Cody McKenzie
• James Head > Nick Catone
• Kurt Holobaugh > Steven Siler
Jon Jones > Chael Sonnen
Michael Bisping > Alan Belcher
Roy Nelson > Cheick Kongo
Phil Davis > Vinny Magalhaes
Jim Miller > Pat Healy
Good overall card.
Going to wait for CosmoDamus to make his predictions, because you know, i like money.
Poker chobo.

sonnen drawing dead yes barring some freak accident and jon jones slips and breaks his neck during the fight or his knee decides it not longer wants to be functional and just explodes out of his leg.
Everybody says they're going to get inside and pressure Jones. Sonnen will be the first to actually do it. It's just so tough for Sonnen in a 5 round fight because he doesn't have the ability to finish Jones, so he's going to have to win 3 rounds. If Jones uses his offensive wrestling and puts Sonnen on his back then he'll probably finish in the 1st. If he goes on the defensive and tries to sprawl and brawl then Sonnen has a chance.
Dude you some social darwinist ideas that they are giving hitlers ghost a boner - Baal
Yea I thought so too about Healy so put a small bet on him.
Not sure about the other fights yet. Tempted to by the Sonnen odds just due to random factors including TRT, weight cuts, Jones not striking me as mentally as good etc. However, the fact still stands that Jones is a much better fighter.

I bet the over 1.5 rounds prop for the Jones/Sonnen and Nelson/Kongo fights. One was -170, the other was -130.

Those odds on Jones vs Sonnen are amazing. On 5Dimes it is -260 to start in round 2 and I was considering that.
I have Bisping -155 for $387.50, then Nelson vs Kongo to go to decision +185 and Kongo to win +195.
Also have Jones -823.

Yeah, I was lucky to get my bet in on the over 1.5 rounds for both fights when I did.
I just saw that the Jones/Sonnen o1.5 rounds jumped from -170 to -260 in less than a day.
I have $50 on Jones/Sonnen o1.5 rounds at -170. $20 on Nelson/Kongo o1.5 rounds at -135, and another of the same bet at -145.
Also, if you think the fight will go to a decision, I'd only bet on "goes to a decision @ +185" and "Kongo wins by decision @ +426," cuz what we are saying by placing this bet is:
1. Roy Nelson is having a hard time landing his big overhand right.
2. Kongo is hitting and moving, keeping Nelson moving a lot, which will get the fat man tired after awhile.
3. Kongo has gotten better at wrestling, mostly in that he can hold people against the cage and grind out a win if necessary.
4. Nelson slows down as the fight progresses. I wouldn't say he gases like other have said, but he does noticeably slow down. Having Kongo micro around the octagon and throwing shots, then clinching when he sees a good spot, means that Kongo will win a decision.
If you actually think about it, how would Nelson win a decision? If he's winning the fight, it will be because he landed more strikes, which usually means he'll get the KO/TKO. If it goes to a decision, that means Nelson wasn't able to force his game plan on Kongo.
Lastly, if it does go to a decision, I see Kongo winning the fight by using his height and reach to stay on the outside, and then clinching against the cage when needed. This will become easier for Kongo if he can not get knocked out and take it to round 3, cuz Kongo is favored to win that round for the reasons already mentioned. Kind of like a Condit vs. Diaz strategy, mixed with clinches against the cage.

Saw someone post this a little bit ago:
Jones/Sonnen ends itd 400 to win 100
Not jones itd 100 to win 400
It's basically win 400 if sonnen finishes jones, break even otherwise.
So it's break even...

-kongo hits and moves, but its USUALLY backwards until he reaches the cage, then he escapes laterally. So roys chances of dropping a bomb on kongos chin is very high. And theres no fear of kongos power because he boxes off his back foot (lol french people). Which means that he can go in for the double jab, get right in kongos chest, and drop a bomb when kongo retreats.

This would require Nelson actually knowing how to box, which he doesn't.
I don't see Kongo winning unless he can clinch enough to go to a decision. However, I think that he knows where he's at in his career and needs to avoid trading with Nelson, which means he will play it safe at least in the first round, which is when Nelson is most dangerous.
I can see a KO/TKO for Nelson, but I don't think it will come in the first round. All I need is for the fight to get for at least 7.5 minutes, and then I win my bet. I also have a small bet on Kongo by decision.
It's crazy to think Chael has a 1 in 10 shot to become the LHW champion, it would be so hilarious. Imagine all the talking he would do, and then a rematch with Jones or a superfight with Anderson!
A friend of mine told me that Silva will drop down to LHW so they can have a fight with Jones is that correct? I m new to the scene so I really dont know any of the meta going on
