Two explosions right after the other at finish line at marathon. Deaths confirmed. Third possible explosion, controlled, or controlled bomb that's been diffused.
An hour later, Boston Police warned spectators that they may heard another blast as they detonate a possible third bomb found along the route.

NK issued an ultimatum today, stating they will launch a blitz attack unless the South stops their military preparations. Seems fucking stupid to allow a blitz to happen by letting down your defenses. Also, there's speculation that Kim was assassinated as he hasn't been seen in a couple weeks, though I don't know if he's shown up for his dad's anniversary.

Sucks the most when it's a 2 team parlay. Cuz if I wanted to bet 1 team, it'd be much bigger than what I risked on the two teams.
Edit: Yeah, it is canceled. NHL.com said the Senators/Bruins game will be played at a later date.

Know i sound like an asshole and im sorry for what happened, but if this turns out to be another "terrorist attack" i will be obliged to call bullshit.
Hopefully it was some military guy that went nuts so things wont escalate into another direction with thousands of deaths more. Control by mass stress is the easiest thing now sadly
Damn, for a second just after it happened i thought it didn't look like a terrorist act. Maybe some pipes blew i thought. Nope. Fucking jihadis at it again.

Yeah, my bad. I was in the middle of thinking about sports, and I didn't use my common sense when I clicked on this thread and responded to a comment that was probably meant to be a joke.
You're right about Americans though, for the most part.
This can go either way, we got the Israel independence day and tax day at the same time.
I actually think this is more likely to be an extreme right wing group than a Muslim terrorist attack due to the recent events. I don't think AlQaida is capable of doing this. Iran is definitely not that stupid.
If it is the white right wing group then I can not wait for Fox News to spin this amd somehow blame it on Obama.

Yes, that kind of goes without saying and i get where you are going with that. With a population over 300 million surely there are more important developments worthy of making the news. To a bystander this seems to be blown out of proportion. Just my 2 cents.

yeah it's interesting, although there are far less bombings in the west than in iraq, so it's not really a suprise to see iraqis getting killed. i'm not sure if this should make it less news worthy.
To your 2nd point, i think the main population of the west has a lot of empathy to the developing world. I see a lot of young people donating to charitable causes. There are also polls that show the americans care, although maybe less towards iraqis than other poor countries. The problem is the rich and powerful in the west don't care, and they are the ones that run the world atm.

Humans care about life.
Life cares about life.

Some seem more susceptible to news like this and the dissection of why it is so probably needs insight or some quotes from the philosophy gurus of this forum. You made as much sense as I did, lol. I don't think life is equal, just that life cares about life, species will care about their own species, communities will care about their communities. While I don't believe WW3 will happen any time soon, it's still worth noting when millions, maybe billions, possibly trillions are being spent sending fleets upon fleets to a section of the world. Its not the amount of people that are killed that important, its the implications that it has that is. Just look at 9/11 for an example and how it changed the U.S

i don't think this whole equal life thing is much of an argument for unfair news reporting. You know 9/11 for example had a huge impact on the world. It led to wars, increased terrorism from the united states and the middle east. Lots of things, so i would say that's more important news than some other attack that killed the same amount of people in Africa. Also when someone like steve jobs dies thats going to get reported a lot more than some person that no one knows about. Seems fair to me imo.
If you wanna see some extreme biases, the new york times reported 1175 column inches in their news paper on the khmour rouge genocide. And just 70 column inches on the east timor genocide. The two differences being that the cambodian one was one the US wasn't involved in, the later was one that they were involved in.

I find entertainment in conspiracy theories, so don't take this as me being a tinfoiler, but the current one I have been reading about is linked to Aurora, Sandy Hook, and the Chinese. The Phelps from the sandy hook have the same address as some chinese guys who own a solar company, which is thought of as a front. They own property just miles from the aurora theater, own property in sandy hook and newton, own property in samwsoch or something, it's just miles from boston, and they also own property in atlanta, georgia. The list of properties is in sequential order of the attacks, and Lanza has been linked to the solar company. I don't know if holmes has been linked, but the drugs he's seemingly on has been said to come from the solar company. There was also some guy who did some numbers on the days between the attacks and whatnot and said the next attack will happen on 8/29, which just happens to be my birthday.
I really hope there isn't a next attack, especially on my birthday.
Low security and lots of media attention. I actually think it is a perfect target for "terrorizing" activities.
Also the issue of children is a non-issue for people from Middle East. MANY families in Iraw, Yemen, Afganestan have lost their children to Drone strikers and other actions taken by Americans.
According to USA records. Official American documents that is, since 2004. There has been 175 children, 535 civilian and 2400 "other group" dead in ONLY the drone strikes. And only the dead. The real number is probably 5-10 times the official numbers. "Other" definition is sometimes as loose as a teenage male.
But even with their own numbers that is 70 civilian and children dead EVERY YEAR. Which is about 6 civilian and children dead EVERY MONTH for the past 10 years and JUST from drones.
So if this bombing w 2-4 dead is done by Muslims the fact that "civilians and children" were killed is not an issue to them. They get an incident like this EVERY WEEK for the past 10 years just from drones.
That is why next time you USA is going to war they should think about the consequences like Ron Paul talks about. It's in their own fucking CIA reports.

I'd rather have the Russians and Chinese run the world - that would be so much better? I'd say as the most powerful nation who could've easily made everyone their slaves for the past 80 years has been fairly generous, being the so called "tyrant" that they are.
Try pulling this shit on Russian or Chinese soil and let's see how they deal with Iraq and any other terrorist shithole country.

9/11 happened because of american backed use of torture on an intellectual in egypt named sayyid qutb, in the 1950s. The torture radicalized his beliefs and inspired the creation of al queda.
as far as slavery goes, If the developing world didn't have outside interference, which has mostly come from the US they would likely be as advanced as the western countries today. But organizations like the IMF make mafia style loans to poor countries(run by US backed dictators), keep them in poverty and their citizens have to choose between wage slavery and starvation. Many workers in the 19th century considered the wage system a form of slavery.

Yeah I mean obviously there is going to be consequences to our actions, although I still dont regret them considering the context in which they were conducted. I.E. the difference between "casualty of war" and "terrorism". We get to play the casualty card because our target is not civilains, that is an incidental side-effect due to the fact that our targets choose to hide themselves in civilian populated areas. The belief was that we would never attack civilians to destroy a target, so they thought they were safe. America was "too good" for that. Well guess what you're wrong, and we'll blow up a school if it means taking out 1 bad guy in it. Looks like the "bad guys" dont really care though and continue to hide out in neighborhoods and such rather than securing themselves in their own make-shift bases (tents, caves, hole in the ground, whatever. You want to conduct operations from your bedroom then you're responsible for the damage inflicted when someone attacks you).
Terrorism on the other hand is all about attacking civilians. The target is not meant to be strategic, it's meant to be psychological. For some reason terrorists believe that if they blow up enough civilians they will emotionally cripple their opponents and somehow establish victory. Look at what they're doing to themselves every day "over there". An attack doesnt even make headlines unless it kills at least 20 children. Is it working? I dunno maybe. But they'll never achieve that level of success here, so they are simply wasting their time and becoming a "nuisance" to the USA for lack of a better term. I mean clearly it's ridiculous to think killing 10-100 American civilians per year is going to have any tangible effect whatsoever. In fact all youre doing is guaranteeing escalated retaliation in return, in the form of massive drone strikes. Something like this happens and even the tree huggers start saying "nuke em all". I guess their lack of news and media information doesnt portray this so they continue to think pissing us off with shitty terrorist attacks every now and then is going to somehow turn the tides in their favor.
Anyway when it comes down to it, do I approve of drone strikes? Not really, but not because I dont want civilian casualties, but because I simply think it's ineffective. You kill some supposed terrorist mastermind and he just gets replaced by another. It's not like what these guys are doing is that sophisticated and cant be easily replicated by someone else. They're using old munitions rigged with simplistic detonators and going on suicide runs. Whoopdie do, you can teach anybody to do that, so we cant kill them all and "end terrorism". It's as futile as their attempts to squash us with equally pathetic attacks. The only reason we'll win is because we have the resources to spread our influence. The arabs have further invited us into their world, and I guarantee 50 years from now our military influence will have propagated into starbucks and mcdonalds in the streets of Pakistan, which is exactly what they dont want. We're westernizing the muslim world through war.

terrorists are people. they often have families that they provide for. terrorist leaders are often patriarchs with bigger families.they don't necessarily have the means to build an underground cave complex they can go out to hide in while coming up with their next evil plots. you're not fighting against the legion of doom.
like, I know that you're not defending drone strikes. but you are still really guilty of this whole.. idea that terrorists are just so evil that they're willing to use children and civilians whom are often friends or family as sacrifices to get political gains and understanding for their desire to kill civilians on their own? I mean what?
I think a much more precise way of looking at it is this; terrorists also consider their civilian targets collateral damage. it's just that their goal isn't to kill some specific or unspecific high ranking military official, but to create fear which influences further policy from the country they are targeting. in either case it's equally futile, because any victim of collateral damage will completely disregard that the culprit considers its an unfortunate neccessity, and one amazing thing about feelings and actions is that they multiply. hatred leads to more hatred and war leads to more war.

Yeah, you can read my post about how some conspiracy people were saying there was going to be one in ATL the day before. Minor coverage, but I thought the guy had only minor injuries? Sucks if he died.

Yeah, for real.
For how much shit America has started over the years, it's amazing how big of a pussy the government is. Stupid corporations want people locked up so they can make money, when the average person would rather see a killer/rapist/terrorist/etc. shot and killed on site.

Its much better to get him alive:
1 why he did it (thats important to stop future attacks)
2 sell out his terrorist cell
He's enemy combatant part of terrorist cell, that means they have the right to torture for information.
do you really believe any of those to be reliable sources?
Do you really believe any media is reliable? During the manhunt, each major media corporation kept fucking up, naming suspects who weren't actually suspects, having to backtrack over and over again. Then there's the fact that the big three get funded for reporting certain stories while ignoring other ones.

I get my news from as many sources as possible. Funny to see which ones copy paste each other.
What do you think would happen if the giants reported that there was a sleeper cell in the States? Do you think it would be a good idea? Do you think people would just go about their normal every day lives? Or, do you think panic would ensue, or vigilantes going about trying to find the cell?
Reddit and twitter are already getting shit for their "witch hunt." I bet the "witches" didn't like that, the ones who weren't the bombers...

How does a man shoot himself in the throat without a gun? First, he was armed and shot at the police which initiated a shootout, now, as it seems, he was never armed in the boat.
Again, how can you shoot yourself without a gun? How can there not be a trail of blood from a gunshot wound to the neck if you shot yourself before getting to the boat?

What are you going on about Gnarly? Who gives a shit whether he was shot in the neck or not, or whether it was self-inflicted. Who gives a shit that hundreds of homes were searched without a warrant, amiright? Sure, one cop may have brought two gallons of milk to a house, but still warrentless searches are against the constitution.
If he was shot through the neck, while unarmed, that means the police fucked up and they need to face the consequences, otherwise, they'll just keep doing shit like that. "Oh, you're surrendering? GET SHOT MOTHER FUCKER!" That's not trivial, because that's ILLEGAL. Unless you think the police department is above the law, but it's still ILLEGAL. It doesn't matter if he's guilty or innocent, you read the fucking miranda rights and you don't shoot up the person especially when they have surrendered. He was eventually read his miranda rights, but days after the fact.

Did you see some of the videos of the searches? Do you really feel comfortable with a rifle being trained on you? Who knows if you move too fast that you won't get shot... Scare an officer and you might get shot. Look at an officer wrong and you might get shot. Enemy combatant status, do you know what the means?

You dont think the police were justified in their actions given the circumstances?
If what you're describing is true (it's probably not because nothing that you say is true) then that is bullshit. I would be happy to comply with the police in that situation but they don't have the right to force their way in to a home without a warrant or probable cause or whatever.

You're a fucking faggot dude. Wtf do you expect them to do, do you realize wtf just happened? I think apprehending the terrorists was everyone's priority. I would welcome a swat raid into my home in the moments after this horrendous event to help aid law enforcement in his capture. They clearly had the right strategy since the guy was hiding in someones boat on their personal property. They did an excellent job, found him in record time, and did exactly what they were supposed to do, which is make sure these little cockbags dont get to do it again.
I also love how you try to sensationalize what happened with your "BANG BANG BANG" crap. They gently knocked on a flimsy ass glass door which they could have easily broken, waited for someone to answer, and of course are going to tell him to get his fucking hands in the air. If they were walking around using a battering ram busting down doors and tackling people then I'd have a problem. If they were raiding peoples homes a month from now then I'd have a problem. If they were tazing residents the moment they open their doors then I'd have a problem. But they conducted themselves very well especially considering the severity of the issue.
You act like they were after some highschoolers weed money abusing their authority. They were on the hunt for a couple of maniac jihadi terrorists. This was as important as the hunt of Osama all over again.

25k fucking thousands units dude, 25000! For one guy! Do you know who's going to pick up THAT tab? The taxpayers. Seems like they did a really good fucking job needing the hordes of men just to find someone who was actually found by a resident only when they let the residents leave their homes on their own terms. This whole incident just showed how much of a fucking joke the police, swat, FBI, and national guard is.
>gently knock
Sensationalizing much, no? Did you happen to see the wood on that door?
Did they have a warrant for this search? No, they didn't, and do you know what means? It was an unconstitutional search.
NewbSaibot   United States. Apr 27 2013 00:49. Posts 4952
You're an idiot. The severity of this situation called for warrantless searches. There might as well have been anthrax floating in the air. I suppose you would have preferred the police left post it notes on everyones door to hold their breath. I love how you feel you're fuckin GI Joe and dont need anybody's help to get rid of a terrorist in your home. I can clearly see how you have considered all the angles in which a circumstance like this might unfold, such as he has a fucking gun, or a bomb, or both. Let me guess, you would have totally kicked all of Al Qaeda's ass during 9/11 if you were on that plane, aint nobody gonna punk you right son? Shiiieeeettt, motha fuckas dont know how they fuckin wit. As for answering the door, assuming our terrorist friend has seen at least one good action movie, what the fuck happens when you *dont* answer the door. The cops get highly suspicious right? It doesnt exactly serve a suicide bomber well to have to detonate early without knowing that this is a raid vs your standard questionnaire. As for "seeing the wood on the door"; the fuck you talking about? That was a glass fucking door, or a door with a very large section of glass built into it. Do you not see the shimmering reflection on it? The cops could have easily broken it, but they didnt.
Anyway I can clearly see youre kinda fuckin retarded and going to be another typical tinfoil hat retard who probably thinks 9/11 was an inside job and somehow Sandy Hook is related to the boston massacre. God I wish there was a way I could just block all your posts so that you dont troll bait me into arguing with you. But I'm gonna try to be strong here. No more tears.... shhhh, only dreams now...

fyi warrantless searches are not automatically against the constitution. There are many circumstances that police can search a home without a warrant and it wouldn't be unconstitutional. For example if they think a suspect ran into a home they are allowed to go into the home to look for him, they don't have to sit outside with their thumbs up their asses while they get a warrant.
The 4th amendment protects us from "unreasonable searches." Good luck finding a judge that thinks it would be unreasonable to search a few homes that a terrorist might be hiding in.
They really released 25k units for the hunt ? :D wow
And yeah under "terrorism" pretext they can go in w/o warrant which is ridiculous and easily abusive
