Mir has been on TRT for awhile. He looks ripped cuz he's actually training out of a real camp in Jacksons MMA, instead of his own gym in Las Vegas where his wife and kids would always come to see him and he was surrounded by yes-men.
If Mir could only work on his speed, he'd be so much better. When I see him fight, I feel like I'm watching a 150 pound man inside of a 250 pound mans body, in that he's so slow with his punches and his high round kick is so telegraphed. It's no wonder why he excelled in BJJ. His size and natural brute strength on the ground, mixed with skill, is dangerous.
I thought this was only his 2nd fight on TRT?

swore id never bet against bendo again, but seems like +250 has value. taking a small stab on gilbert.
but man, i finally get bendo now and why he is so so good and why people have such a hard time exploiting the things hes weaker at. for someone who almost never finishes anyone he is super fucking dangerous everywhere. at range his leg kicks are insane. in close his elbows and clinch fighting is vicious. hes imo the best athlete in mma and his takedowns are great. his GNP is great. he has some of the best guillotines in mma. his chin and sub defense rival guys like jon fitch and he never gets tired and fights at a great pace all fight. its really incredible that he doesnt finish more guys, especially in later rounds when he is fighting at 100% vs guys who have been beaten on for a long fight.
but at the same time, his boxing is still mediocre, his defensive wrestling is much worse than his offensive wrestling, and while he seems unsubmittable, he does get into quite a few precarious positions on the ground. at some point someone will take advantage of his weaknesses, but i dont know if gil is the guy to do it. hes a blown up 145 facing one of the most physically dominating fighters in the sport. i dont think one bad fight vs josh thomson is enough to call gil overrated and still think hes every bit as good as he showed in some of his other fights. i just dont know if he can overcome what bendo has. worth a small bet though, time to go 0-6 vs bendo
Was curious about your thoughts on this, I know you were a big believer in Gil for a long time and like me always seem to underestimate Bendo.
Hard to gauge how good Gil really is tbh, but gogo GIL.
Also Bendo isn't even the best athlete on this card. GOGO Yoel Romero

He's been on TRT since June 2nd, 2012, legally. He obviously was on it before then, but that's just my opinion.
Anyway, TRT won't improve his speed, which is his major problem. Training at Jackson's MMA will improve him as a fighter, but he's only been there for 3 months so far, and you can't expect him to be this slick new fighter in that short amount of time, especially since he's already been in the UFC for 12 years and is set in his ways.
Mir said he's staying at Jackson's MMA, even after this fight is over. I think it will help him grow as a fighter, and I hope he does well in the future and doesn't get KO`ed anymore.
Lastly, I actually don't care if Mir beats Cormier, cuz that would make me money and also, Cormier isn't sure what he's doing yet after this fight, whether it's staying at HW or moving to LHW. Cormier weighed 229 lbs, and decided to put on 6 more pounds cuz Frank is so big.

I Got a last minute bet on Dillashaw/Viana under 2.5 at +120
Figured Viana would be throwing bombs like last time cuz he probably thinks he can KO anyone now, and Dillashaw could win via submission or TKO.

You can't mute the audio? As long as the video is fine, that's all that matters.
