Where do you get your info that sauce "can't afford to play these stakes"

Sauce/Galfond have made over $10million AND most likely sell action in some way or another when they are in the super deep 120k games. Isi even sells chunks of action, he isn't 100% of himself 100% of the time.

Variance wise, it's hard to say who can actually afford these stakes.

10mil isnt enough for these stakes.

Correct, but taking calculated bankroll shots and selling action has an EV to it that I do not know for sauce, however, I know sauce knows for himself. He wouldn't waste his time and neither would Galfond

Atta boy.

Lol @ the people who call Galfond a bumhunter. He has a small list of people he won't/rarely play, and most of them are his friends.

Anyways, game selection is an important skill, even for the best players in the world.

They were buying in for 120k on each of their 3 tables.
1.2mil is 10 buy-ins and Sauce was down 2mil mostly to isildur1.

Even with 10mil winning lifetime and as you mentioned correctly they don't even have 100% of themselves when playing these stakes so out of the 10mil I doubt 100% was their action. So they don't have 10mil BR because they won 10mil.

Also I agree they can take shot and selling action and still have +EV but when you are down 2mil in 3 days, I think you stop your shot/your backers bail out

Anyways Isildur1 down over $2mil in the last 3 days. He is now lifetime up $800k+ while his peak was at +$3mil. Still up a bit shy of $4mil since FTP re-opened but how long will it last?

at one point in time he was probably quite a bit of a bumhunter. back when he would just sit and wait for action at 50/100 - 300/600 PLO and NL HU. but when he first came up through the limits he was a shot taking degen who played anyone, and nowadays he plays pretty much anyone.

Forget where he said this, but he said that (the 50/100-300/600 wait for action period) period was one of his bigger poker regrets.

Hm.. Off-suite socks..

not sure who exactly would want to back any of these guys when playing against each other. if one has an edge over another, it's going to be something that only that person can understand. if other ppl understood it, they'd be exploiting it themselves. of the people who have the money to put up for splitting the action, who would even want to? i know i wouldn't.

So you are implying that every person that is backing someone, would it be tournaments or cash game, is able to beat the same game his horses are playing? If so why are there so many games being played with action shared?

Also we all know that Isildur1 has tendancies to tilt and to play marathon sessions where he isn't playing his A game and being over-aggressive in various spots.
But knowing that doesn't make me able to exploit it (I wish it was though lol)

We all know phil galfond is a bumhunter. ain't no same in that.

he himself has also said that the opportunity cost of grinding 5/10 and potentially going into a huge downswing isn't worth jeopardizing his ability to play fish at nosebleeds.

no one's denying the guy's talent and skill, but we all know he only plays in games he knows he has an edge in. it can be called disciplined, good bankroll management, or bumhunting.

Yes probably. English isn't my native language
Anyways, let's hope Isildur1 holds on to some of his winnings.

Sauce recovered quite well since losing $2mil to Isildur1 by playing "lower stakes" (150/300 and 250/500). He managed to win back about $800k between stars and FTP accounts:

Wobbly, why did you play 100-200 and 200-400?
