Other

- A fight between Thiago Tavares and Dennis Hallman was expected for this card. However, on July 12 it was announced that the fight was moved to the UFC 151 card.
- Luiz Cane was expected to face Yushin Okami at this event. However, Cane was forced out of the bout with an injury and replaced by Rousimar Palhares. Palhares himself was forced out of the bout with Okami with an injury and was replaced by Buddy Roberts. Roberts was already on the card, scheduled against Chris Camozzi, while Camozzi was also forced off the card with an injury.

I disagree. You've got a title fight, two former challengers for the welterweight/middleweight titles, and a top tier lightweight division fight (although I think Guillard has slipped down recently and hasn't looked as good as he has in the past). There may be less amounts of big names here but the quality of a lot of the fights seems just as good as any other card imo.

Considering it's a PPV event, they should have tried a little harder to get at least 11 fights on the card. (11 or 12 fights is the norm for PPV events.)

I assume it has something to do with so many people getting injured and replaced in the last 2-3 UFC events, some people had more than 1 replacement because guys kept getting hurt left and right.

Yea I think Bendo and Edgar could've used a better co-main event to get the buys up.

Edgar is obviously a very skilled fighter who is in some wars but he's not as exciting as a lot of other "names". Bendo is cool to watch though, so that'll be fun. Cerrone will probably own the shit out of Guillard but Melvin hits hard as fuck so I guess he has that going for him.

Not sure about Shields vs Herman but it could be boring as hell. Kind of rooting for Shields and I'm hoping for a ground battle. I always enjoy watching Herman though so I'd be cool with any result.

I've got a really hard time caring about the rest of the card except maybe for Roberts (who'll get f'd up) and Kuiper vs Hamman since Hamman makes fun fights and I'd like to know if Kuiper is any good or if he's going to go 0-2/1-2/0-3 and be released. He seemed like a good prospect.

I like the top three fights on this card and if they had two decent fights to round up the main card I'd be happy, but they don't. Have a bet on Shields at -170.

Cerrone's gonna tag then submit one trick pony Guillard.

I bet on Henderson the first go around even though I like Edgar because there's just so much of a natural size difference. Don't quite think that's changed.

<- Was at the card on Saturday and it was unreal, just thought I'd put that out there even though it's irrelevant to the discussion at hand. I didn't realize Fox and the UFC blatently covers it up when they bring out a gurney, which they did when Johnson was out for like 3 minutes.

I know it's an unpopular opinion, but I think Frankies going to take it. I thought he would beat Bendo in the first fight, and if it wasn't for the up kick I think he would of.

I think Frankie showed he's clearly the better wrestler. I think he's the better boxer as well. I think Bendos kicks + balance just kind of caught him off guard. He probably thought he could just catch kicks and score counters or take downs. I think he'll be able to adjust to it now though, and be the better wrestler and boxer and deal with Bendos kicks much, much better. That and avoid the up kick from jesus.

I think Cerrone beats Melvin. Melvin should crush him for awhile, but Cerrone is super tough to finish with strikes and eventually Melvin will falter to pressure and get tapped out.


Shields should be able to handily smother Herman.

The thing is that i see Bendo improving way faster than Frankie

If Bendo becomes another GSP (Locks up a division with decisions) I am going to ragequit the UFC.

It would be Jones and Silva outskilling two divisions and GSP (when he returns) and Bendo decisioning two divisions.

*Bendo has entertaining fights though.

frankie edgar is good but he's got faber's genes and is also a wrestler. ez money on bendo.
odds in ufc betting is shit though so its tough making money betting on these.

cerrone should win it as well.

Henderson is -185 and Edgar is +170.
