S1E1 is pretty good, but it takes a 90 degree downfall into shitsville after that.
They fired the previous director though half way through season 2 and it's showed hope since then.
During season 2 they only had like a 2 million per ep budget, despite the show breaking all kinds of records. Hopefully a new director plus the continued record breaking ratings will lead to a better show with a better budget.
For the most part though the show has been watchable only for the reason to make fun of how absurdly bad it got. Like I said though, 2nd half of season 2 started to show hope that it's going to get better.

A lot of people said they liked season 1, I thought it needed much more action than what was shown.
I liked season 2, even though there was some dull moments. The last 5 episodes got real good, and showed what season 3 will be like. Season 3 is supposed to have more action.
I'd suggest watching "The Talking Dead" episodes after each episode of The Walking Dead. There's always actors/writers/producers from the show talking about what happened, why it happened, and what might happen down the line, as well as a sneak peak clip for the following weeks episode.
Also, DISH Network has dropped AMC, so you wont be able to watch The Walking Dead under that service.

I think people like it more for the potential but even that makes it one of my favororite shows. That trailor looked awsome and seemed more strategic like the comics clearing out zombies and what not a I think I shed a tear. Im sure they can do alot more with their budget with a prison being inside then a farm.

They are 2 totally different stories. They are similar in some ways but so much different in others that I don't think you can really compare the 2. That lady is in the comics. I actually downloaded the comics and read them and they are fucking good. The comics are much more grim and dark and less gay like the show.

guys lets face it, part of what makes this show good is how bafflingly bad some of the dialogues are during slow scenes. That itself is an art form imo when done right.

The producer of the show said this season will be action packed like the last 3 episodes of season 2 were. You should watch the after-show called "The Talking Dead", after the show is over. It's usually on 1 hour after you finish watching the first airing of each episode, so it basically starts at 11pm for Californians.

What made last night's show good wasn't just because of the action, it was because there wasn't so much lollygagging bullshit we had to endure. In one episode we went from Rick finding a new place to live in, clearing it out, then finding a group of survivors in the prison.
Reminds me of how quickly but fluid last season's of Breaking Bad moved.

i think since all of the character development is out of the way they can focus more on moving things along now. while still throwing in a couple elements of drama here and there they can be more straight forward with this zombie business.
btw am i the only person who thought the zombie pack dogs were hilarious and awesome? Now I want my own little zombie carry pet.
don't gotta feed em, they are dumb as a brick and easily managed. all they have is a pair of legs and a torso looks pretty harmless otherwise.

the premiere was good because they heard everyone's criticism that the dialogue sucked so they severely reduced it and increased the action. I'm pretty sure not a single word was spoken in that opening scene where they cleared out the house, which also shows how good they have gotten at surviving that they are all on the same page without having to communicate.

I think the dialogue and evolution of shane & that country guy are what made the previous seasons so great. You kept waiting to find out what they were going to do next, who's side they were on, if they were going to turn on anyone, or just be cool. I was completely bored by this first episode, and frequently kept going back to do shit on my pc. The show was like a level from Resident Evil. Shoot zombie, stab zombie, blow zombies brains out, get sprayed in face by zombie blood, etc. It's like that shit was cool last year because you kept waiting for the show to lead up to it. Now it's just there every 5 minutes. It was also cool because this was hands down the goriest basic cable television show in history, but now it's old.

Yeah, tonights episode was good. Will Wheaton + the guy who played Tomas in tonights episode, are the two guests on The Talking Dead after show.
I'm curious to who was behind the tree toward the end of the episode.
Also, I like the direction that Carl is going this season, he changed from a little bitch in season 1&2 to a younger version of his dad.
What's really annoying in this show is that it has a huge potential but it's spoiled by dumb situations/events/weird plot twists/shitty dialogues... I mean it's a zombie apocalypse and the only dude who acts accordingly is Shane who embodies evil in the show. Nonsense, I'd say he's the only one who can receive credit for his behavior. Also end of season 2 was okish and the last episode kind of saved the whole season which was again turning into some dumb psycho drama... Will see season 3 but not much expectations from me

^ Everyones role in season 3 seems to have changed. Nobody is annoying so far in the first 2 episodes, and the first 2 episodes were good.
I'm not going to give away what is different, you'll just need to see it for yourself. I can see them getting a 4th season after 2 more episodes, if things continue to be as good.
Also, expect them to be mostly in 1 area during each season. They need some type of home base so that they can do random shit in other places but always have a place to be able to go back to. We wont see them traveling all over the USA in a single season like we saw in season 1, it wont work for a show like it does in a movie.

oh and when glenn opened the fence to get a female body...why couldnt they just wait for the gang to return and get ricks approval? it was really stupid and dangerous id flame them like shit if i was rick for doing that

First of all not everybody has FPS syndrome and are able to kill mercilessly loved ones in a zombie apocalypse.
This is an old comic that almost invented the "rules" in a zombie apocalpse, its brilliantly written and unlike most shitty zombie movies they dont take lightly the deterioration of morality in a decaying society, you can see that now Rick is just as Shane, just as Shane told him he would, surviving in that world long enough will make you like that and its what the story is trying to tell.
Funny how Day-Z feels a lot like the walking dead:
- Zombies are scary (way faster and more annoying in Day-Z) but the real danger are the other humans.
- You cant trust anybody, people will pretend to be friendly and follow you to your base, shoot you in the back and steal your shit.
- Its a huge advantage to be in groups, the only way to survive solo is if you are hermit rambo living in the woods

Rick chasing black guy is very important, it shows that he will kill anybody even "innocent" people who he considers a threat, like Shane wanted to do with the boy in the farm.
CPR was just to add some tension and why would they need rick approval he is the leader not god and he is busy as hell, they were doing a simple task

If I remember correctly, the black guy run thru the door they recently opened and Rick went ape shit trying to get him in an unexplored territory with no back ups and not a single clue of how to get back. If he was a little smart, he would know that that black guy with absolutely no weapons would die very soon.
I've liked most of things they've done so far to be honest. In Ep1, some things I would do different (not saying this is good for the show obviously): why wouldn't you try to kill most of the walkers thru the fences? you could easily make noise and kill 70% of the zombies that way without risking anything, just maybe some time but in the end you are not going to get harmed and will save energy.
Also, I find it hard to believe that the prisoners stayed there for 10 months without trying to escape and not knowing anything of the situation that was going outside. You would think that a prisoner, who is usually thinking in ways to escape from jail would accomplish it from a cafeteria after having 10 solid free months no?

It's true that Rick will kill or think about killing any potential threats now, but that particular guy wasn't innocent at all, if you watch the episode closely he was always siding with the mexican guy and making noise. Also right before Tomas opened the door him and the black guy exchanged weird looks and Rick picked up on that, so I think Rick saw them both as the biggest threats and why he spared the other two dudes lifes. Although I'm pretty sure he will regret it
i wonder what does the governor want also why does his small army obey him when they probably know hes a psycho

A 70 person group lead by a psycho who is crazy when he's alone, and a nice guy when he's around women and children is similar to a cult leader, which is what he seems to be, minus the false god. The Governor has the community at the palm of his hand and the guys who work security for him know this. The Governor only wants people in his city that he can control, like random people found alone. The military guys posed a threat to the Governors utopian society cuz they were a group who wouldn't conform to the utopian rule and eventually fight back and possibly win. This was talked about in the Talking Dead after-show.

Walking dead has always tried to show that the real enemy in a society collapsing even is man itself.
Dont you think Shane went even greater distances to kill the escaping guy? He tought he would go to his friends and they would pillage the farm just as Rick probably knew that an ex-convict maybe wanting to avenge his friend is a huge risk to the entire group so risk risked his life in order to not take chances, just like Shane would have... You dont want another Merl hunting your ass.
The whole scene is to show the evolution of Rick, Shane always told him that he only needed time to be like him and he was right, being a leader in such a ruthless environment will turn you inevitably into a monster to our moral standards.
And about them not scaping well.... they are in a prison which isnt easy to escape from and its not like they have shovels and pickaxes on the kitchen in prisons, besides they were the only ones alive surrounded by thousands of flesh eating creatures... i can picture why they didnt escape.

Sounds ridiculous but playing Day-Z has helped me understand some things like what the Governor did, those guys from the army werent going to give away their weapons and they were a group with enough firepower to be a threat to his position or even the whole town.
They were going to scout for the chopper and probably finding the place and who knows what would happen then, the psycho governor had two choice, gamble and try to reason with them or kill them.
also what i dont understand is they said that when u chop off the jaws and arms the zombies become neutral, yet when michone and andrea were hiding the zombies became mad and michone had to behead them. So whats that about?

guy also is racist. i don't know if you guys picked up on it, but all the blacks and latinos were using axes and baseball bats, while all the white people had guns. not sure if this is coincidental or not but would like to think the director did this on purpose

She had to kill them because they were making noises, about neutral they meant that they cant harm you since they cant bite or attack with arms
man, now that Lori is gone I don't know what to think about it, I wanted her to be death so much and now that she's finally gone I kinda feel like I'm gonna miss her... this episode totally kicked ass, action packed and full of excitement, man I'm still getting chills from some of the scenes...

You would think that a prisoner, who is usually thinking in ways to escape from jail would accomplish it from a cafeteria after having 10 solid free months no?
Walking dead has always tried to show that the real enemy in a society collapsing even is man itself.
Dont you think Shane went even greater distances to kill the escaping guy? He tought he would go to his friends and they would pillage the farm just as Rick probably knew that an ex-convict maybe wanting to avenge his friend is a huge risk to the entire group so risk risked his life in order to not take chances, just like Shane would have... You dont want another Merl hunting your ass.
The whole scene is to show the evolution of Rick, Shane always told him that he only needed time to be like him and he was right, being a leader in such a ruthless environment will turn you inevitably into a monster to our moral standards.
And about them not scaping well.... they are in a prison which isnt easy to escape from and its not like they have shovels and pickaxes on the kitchen in prisons, besides they were the only ones alive surrounded by thousands of flesh eating creatures... i can picture why they didnt escape.

i think this wasnt a good episode compared to the first 3
we gotta know nothing more about woodbury and the rest of the episode was just constant and useless fighting and tdog had a really stupid death...the plot really didnt move along
oh and i read 90 pieces of comics during the weekend. its really good and got hooked up (probably at around season6 now). In the comic woodbury is so dark and the governor is so psycho from the first minute i really dont understand why they didnt show any of that in this episode
I hate it in shows, anime's whatever when there's no novelty, when you always kinda know exactly what will be said, how people will react. It just doesn't move me in the slightest lol.
Awesome episode, since a few surprises, cool to have people die. And it's much cooler when someone dies in a random, not too over the top kinda way. Should have had him die an even less meaningful death. Like had him trip, stab his eyes out, then just shoot himself cuz feeling overwhelmed with bad shit happening, that'd be even better, but not complaining, awesome episode.

To see the mother die like that made me cry...for joy! Her and Skylar may be the two worst female characters on TV. Pity it wasn't a murder suicide (actually Carl is bearable this season so that might be a bit harsh).
That show/fight with the walkers at Woodbury as a form of entertainment seemed kind of stupid to me to be honest. The episode itself was ok-ish. I wouldnt say it was a sick episode though.

As far as The Walking Dead content is concerned, there's 3 different pieces.
#1 = the actual show. #2 the half an hour after-show that comes on after the actual show is over. #3 the after-after show that is available on the AMCtv.com website and the next day on the AMC YouTube channel.
The after-after show is just a way to extend the after-show without having to spend the money to air it on TV.
Below are the after-after show (Bonus Segment) videos that are from AMC's YouTube channel. Since this is basically the second half of the after-show, you'll have to find a place to go view it online.
Also, if you have a major cable TV provider like Comcast, you'll have an "OnDemand" feature that has The Walking Dead and The Talking Dead after-show available under the TV Shows section that you can watch for free, then you can watch the after-after show online.

They explain in the after-show that the fat zombie that is sitting in the corner is the one who ate Lori's body.
We know this because there was a blood trail that lead to the back of the room, which means the zombie dragged her body back there. Also, you can see long hair sticking out of the zombies mouth, which further lets you know he ate her body.
My original assumption on whether Carl was actually a pussy or not has been answered. Carl's balls dropped between the season 2 and season 3 vacation, and now he's a mini-bad ass.

Honestly cant think of another show thats managed to pull it back around so well after slipping away in end of season 1 and season 2. Usually its all downhill once the decline starts, but walking dead has been fkin awesome this season.

Nice episode. The good thing about a midseason finale is that the show will only be gone for 2 months and then we get another 8 episodes, instead of having to wait 8-9 months for a 4th season. This is a way to give the viewers more to watch in a shorter time span, since the ratings are good.
Good news. They just announced that season 3 returns on February 10th at 9pm, followed by The Talking Dead after-show will air directly after for 1 hour instead of the regular 30 minutes.
Show seems kind of random. There are all sorts of story lines that I've seen in western's or post-Apocalypse tv show or movies. What I mean to say is it isn't very integrated into the show that well. Just seems like a western with a zombie context. I kind of wanted more zombie driven drama.
still a good show, just think they really need to have a more direct focus.

This season is like a 9.5/10 while last season was a 2.5/wouldnothitevenifdrunk.
I saw Darryl in the previews for February's episodes with his crossbow so it's pretty evident he lives. What I want though, is Merle to join Rick's group. Guy is just a badass :D.

Not sure what the show will be like without him. I assume there was some sort of conflict of interest, maybe he said the wrong thing, pissed off the wrong person, or asked for more money when he shouldn't have. Either way, the show has only grown in popularity since episode 1, so I don't think they booted him for poor ratings.
Also, season 2 didn't suck, both season 1 and 2 were slow and told a story that lead up to the awesomeness you see now. The last 3-5 episodes of season 2 was when shit started to get crazy, just like the producer said it would, and that it would continue to be that way into season 3.
well, season 1 was best, season 2 was pretty bad and season 3 was sort of meh so far with a bit more action to make it watchable. I'd say it's good he's going away if he was responsible for 2 and 3.

Bump, just finished the 1st season. Highly recommend. Nothing innovative but the artwork and the fighting scenes are well done. Dubb version isn't bad either as there are a few pop culture references.

Highschool of the Dead is awesome, but there probably won't be a second season as the manga has been basically dropped by the author. Shame, more supersonic boobs would be awesome.

When they cleared the prison yard at the start of the season EVERYONE in the group was some dead eye crack shot making head shots from 200m with PISTOLS. It was like 1 bullet, 1 kill. True, while it's probably fairly hard to hit shit with that amount of adrenaline and supposedly the rifles should be fairly decently calibrated at some shorter range, it still wouldn't be that hard to hit a little bit better.
I liked the ending though, group is togheter again, let the asian kid and the redneck big brother go fuck with the governor. Maybe some killing and light torture. That'll bring the closer.

I don't usually watch it but my girl is totally into this series. Not sure if it's the latest episode but she was watching this one last night (season 3 episode 10).
i quit dexter half way through the season because all i felt was disappointment, anger and frustration.

for those talking about the aim: just remember, with zombies, there is some distance, and they are shooting dead people. a little different when people are shooting at you, and you don't just see them right away, and with distance, and those guns...its not like they have had legit military training or anything. the guys rolling with the governor seem like the type who probably joined militias here in the US and had some conspiracy theory, end of world, anti government beliefs in the first place.
i like the walking dead, but i would like to be taken by surprise a little bit more often. i think it is becoming a bit more predictable, in the sense that, everyone here seems to agree - its getting a bit slow, then there is some quick "action" sequence where some tertiary character gets extra attention then dies, right on cue.
still better than the majority of programming available, i think, and as for zombies, it holds up. many zombie plots are way thinner than this.

This most recent episode was actually good. If you guys watched the Talking Dead, you would understand more about each episode and appreciate them more too.
They're building a new storyline here, or at least adding on to the current one so it has some more depth in the future, instead of just killing mass zombies every episode, which would get old.
Think about it like this. There's only 1 bad guy right now, and if season 3 spent every episode going back and forth between the Governor and Rick without either of them dying, it would get pretty boring very fast, unless major people got killed off in the process, which wouldn't work just yet. If either Rick or the Governor died right now, the rest of the season would have no meaning.
I haven't read the comics, but I have enough of an idea to know that they're introducing new characters from the comics every so often, so if there isn't a major attack going on between the good vs. bad groups of people, then there's probably a new character being introduced.
I can't remember everyone's name, but there has been a bunch of new people introduced in "slow" episodes if you think about it.
Lastly, Game of Thrones will be starting soon, so sit tight.

Pretty tilted they just used him for a 1 off random episode and that they also made him crazy. He should of joined them. Dude is a damn good actor, as seen in this last episode. Him rejoining the show would instantly take it up a couple notches. It was no coincidence that this was probably the best episode since the pilot, and he was in both.

Yeah, I'm pretty tired of Daryl and his fucking impractical and contradictory methods. Sure, a crossbow is silent and deadly but then he rides a fucking Harley wherever he goes. Dafuq? The cool factor of using that shit has long since expired. And where the fuck does he get his arrows from that has green and white feathering? He fashioning zombie dick into arrows? Fake and gay.
The finale of this show would be majorly epic if multiple characters died. Andrea, Hershel, Beth, lesbionic bitch can go and the show could focus more on the characters next season with some more room to maneuver.

A bit of suspension of disbelief (in details that don't really affect the story telling too much) would probably help you guys enjoy the show more, just remember how terrible season 2 was for the most part and feel better about this one lol

Show is shit. The music at the end of the episode while rick spoke in the prison reminded of a similar episode of the shield near the end of the season when they were near the outskirts of the city up near the mountain roads. it's a great strategy to keep the viewer interested because that episode was complete dogshit and letting rick/governor be in the same room and drink whiskey just seemed like a filler episode to me b/c i figured a standoff between these two would occur at the very end of the season when they're the last two alive or some shit during the battle.
Glenn sucks, the blonde girl sucks, zombies walking instead of running is horrible and backwards, the one on one conversations that last 6 mins+ each episode are horrible, the scientist at woodbury is horrible, too much time of each episode in the forest is horrible, meryl bringing up how he cant leave his brother behind has gotten annoying, glenn sucks

You couldn't have picked a worse comparison in shows. DBZ had a much wider proportion of junk filler to action scenes compared to that of TWD's junk filler to killing zombies

i really wouldnt mind the lots of drama parts but the actors/characters are just so uninteresting and the dialogues are so bad with a few exceptions....

I think there was a lot they cold do with her. She never really redeemed herself from all the completely horrible decisions she made througout the whole season. I for once wouldve liked her become kind of a female Daryl and watch her and Michonnes sisterhood come into play, not to mention she was the perfect candidate to be Ricks new sex partner. Pretty weak finale RIP Milton you couldve done so much, you were the only caracter I could almost relate to

Funny cuz in the comics she does eventually hook up with Rick way down the line. But the way her character was on the show she really had to die. I'm sure they can just create a new female badass in the future to replace her character from the comics.
Them taking everyone from woodbury to join the prison makes no sense, they will obviously all die early next season.

So much build up and nothing happened. Show improved by ten-fold the minute Andrea died but is negated by Carl's shitty acting and eventual transformation into Shane 2.0.
They fucking brought 20 useless old people to the prison. How the fuck can you feed that many people now? I imagine next season will be a time jump about six months into the future and we'll see a fucking thriving crop and kids playing in the field. It's been revealed that the governor is returning to season four and although he played a fucking sick villain (when he shot those people down I got a chub for sure) but I don't want to see the governor vs Rick again. And you can't try to top a big baddie like the governor with another villain because it can't be done, e.g, any fucking villain in Dexter after Trinity.
Althought they could have done it more colorful, maybe when Rick and them come in, there's a total massacre on the chair she was sitting at, and you could hardly recognize here, just a blood bath.
Was so worried she might get saved, or survive, or that the black guy in town would find her or something like that (thankfully that didn't happen).
Would also be cool if she just died early in the episode, kinda non-important death. The guy with glasses just walks over quickly and smashes her head in, shrugs, and without important music, and they don't talk or mention it. And when Rick and the gang finds out later, they kinda nod their head sideways, do that thing ppl do with their mouth when they go "oh well/ well that sucks". And then move on to whatever happens next.
Next season maybe the black chick teaches the timid white young girl who rarely does anything how to fight with the sword (I think she'd fit that nicely), and she becomes all acrobatic and ruthless. Carl gets turned, and she has to kill him. Think It'd please a lot of fans.
